| Abstract: | Two new compounds, 1,3- benzodioxole-5-(2,4,8-triene-methyl nonaoate)1 and 1,3-benzodioxole-5-(2,4,8-trieneisobutylnonaoate) 2 together with four known compounds myristicin, asarinin, sesamin and fargesin have been isolated from Piper mullesua. These compounds are proved to be antifeedant against 4th instar larvae of Spilarctia oblique, sesamin being the most active. |
