Authors: Arya, Suneeta; Sharma, S M; Sharma, R K; Srivastava, V; Bindal, V K; Paul, A K
Abstract: There are chances of reflections of unwanted signal,
due to several unavoidable reasons, in any working microwave tube. Due to this,
the tubes do not give the desired performance. To minimise the chances of
reflections the attenuators are used in microwave tubes. These attenuators may
be used either inside or outside the tube depending upon its end use. For the
fabrication of the attenuators in helix TWTs, the support rods are coated with
controlled carbon layer with the specific profile and length using the specific
processes. In this paper process of carbon coating on support rods using RF
sputtering technique has been described in detail.

Authors: Parida, Purnima; Nagar, Harcharan Singh; Chakravarty, Neelima
Abstract: The
Yamuna Expressway Project is conceived with the idea to not only reduce the
travel time between New Delhi and Agra but also to open up avenue for
industrial and urban development of the region and provide the base for
convergence to tourism and other allied industries. The Government of Uttar
Pradesh has been working proactively to improve the connectivity of the
National Capital Region (NCR) to improve tourist attraction of Taj Mahal at
Agra through the new 6 lanes (extendable to 8 lanes) Access Controlled
Expressway with brand name of Yamuna Expressway. The 23.4 km long section of
the Yamuna Expressway joins the Noida and Greater Noida. The study stretch
starts from Amity
University at Noida and
ends at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. The road is 6 lanes divided by
approximately 3 m wide median and has 1.5 m paved shoulders. On Yamuna
Expressway section joining Noida and Greater Noida, the rate of accidents is
much higher than the national

average.
Degree of fatality is also very high. A study was carried out to identify the
reasons for higher accident rate and to explore remedial measures to reduce the
accidents.

Abstract: Correlation
coefficients were calculated for different morpho-physiological traits of
chickpea with biological yield and seed yield under different environments. The
biological yield had positive correlation with number of primary branches,
relative water content (RWC), crop growth rate (CGR), net assimilation rate
(NAR), seed yield and heat use efficiency and negative correlation with membrane
injury index (MII) and days to different phenophases. Seed yield had positive
correlation with leaf area index (LAI), total chlorophyll content, CGR, number
of seeds per pods, biological yield, harvest index and heat use efficiency and
negative correlation with MII, protein content and days to different phenophases.

Title: Provision of sustainable road transport infrastructure : A case study of urban corridor in Delhi
Authors: Shekhar, Ch Ravi; Gupta, Kamini; Kumar, Ravinder; Kankdurai, B
Abstract: Indian
economy is rapidly growing and along with it the travel demand is also
increasing exponentially. The number of motor vehicles in India which
were around half a million in the year 1950 has now increased to more than 60
million. This increased motorization, urbanization, population growth lead to
traffic congestion, which can be particularly seen on many urban arterial
roads. Congestion reduces utilization of the transportation infrastructure and
increases travel time, fuel consumption, air pollution and traffic accidents
etc. The existing congestion

measure
depends on average travel time, unable to quantify the performance of the
transportation system in terms of sustainability. Therefore, there is a need to
investigate performance measures to evaluate Sustainable Transportation System.
Sustainable transportation attempts to estimate travel time reliability,
economic development, environmental and social equity of current and future
generations. The objective of this study is to evaluate sustainability of
system by considering the delays in travel time and driving cycle patterns.
Travel time based performance measures are considered to evaluate performance
of sustainability of transportation system. In this study an urban arterial corridor
of 4km long on National Highway No. 2 of Delhi Mathura road has been considered
and videographic data in morning peak hours was

collected
for estimating travel time through license plate matching technique and driving
cycle through V box. The benefits in terms of social, economical and
environmental terms are studied and computed by providing suitable
infrastructure facilities.
