Authors: Mukhopadhyay, A; Nayak, R K; Kothari, V K
Abstract: Fabric
extension and recovery characteristics in relation to the fabric fractional
cover, nature of weft yarns (air-jet textured yarn/spun yarn), doubling of
single yarn and filament fineness in air-jet textured yarn have been analysed.
It is

fabric shows better dimensional stability and shape retention property in terms
of higher immediate recovery and resiliency, and lower delayed recovery and
permanent set as compared to the textured yarn fabric. Single yarn fabric
possesses greater immediate recovery and resiliency along weft direction as
compared to doubled yarn fabric. The finer filament textured yarn fabric shows
lower immediate recovery and resiliency than that of the coarser filament
textured yarn fabric.</span>

Authors: Tyagi, G K; Singh, Amarjot; Goyal, A
Abstract: The
influence of add-on finish and process variables on the recovery properties of
jet-spun polyester yarns has been studied using the Box-Behnken design. It is
observed that the add-on finish plays a key role in determining the immediate

elastic
recovery of jet-spun polyester yarns which tends to increase with the increase
in level of add-on finish. Immediate elastic recovery hardly alters with
spinning speed but it increases significantly with the increase in both first
nozzle pressure and main draft. Both delayed elastic recovery and permanent
set, on the other hand, invariably decrease with increasing main draft, and are
considerably lower for the yarns spun with higher add-on finish than for the
yarns spun without finish. An increase in spinning speed increases the
permanent set but adversely affects the delayed recovery.

Authors: Sharma, Kaushal Raj; Behera, B K; Roedel, H; Schenk, Andrea
Abstract: The Cusick's
drape meter has been modified and used to determine the accurate drape
coefficient. The drape coefficient so obtained is then correlated with fabric
low-stress mechanical properties. It is observed that the drape coefficient has
strong correlation with bending properties, good to strong correlation with
shearing properties and poor correlation with tensile properties.
