Authors: Bello, Kasali A; Defeng, Zhao
Abstract: The two series of mono azo dyes have been
prepared from 2-amino-5,10-dihydro-10-hyd roxy-5-methylphenophosphazine 10-oxide
and its 5-methyl analogue by diazotizing and coupling with different coupling components,
respectively. The dyes obtained were applied to cotton under acidic condition and
the washing fastness properties were evaluated. The dyeings were found to be covalently
bonded to cotton when tested with boiling dimethylformamide.

Abstract: The physical properties of the composite binders
have been tested and are reported. The composite binder containing slag and other
constituents give maximum strength. The performance of the binder in water, as studied
by the immersion method, is discussed. The composite binders have been subjected
to their use in masonry and plastering and found to possess high strength and high
workability than the conventional cement-sand mortars. The use of composite hinders
for masonry and plastering works, both in external and internal situations, is recommended.
The techno-economic feasibility of the composite binder

envisaged for a plant of capacity 50 t/d is
presented.

Authors: Verma, V V; Suman, B M; Agarwal, K N
Abstract: Paper presents cooling load comparison of
building with waterproof insulated roof section and the building with moist and
conventional sections. Influence of moisture on overall thermal performance, heat
gain factors and indoor air temperature of the envelop have also been dealt with.
The study is based on the work done at Central Building Research Institute (CBRI),
Roorkee, which gives a simple alternate method to compute indoor air temperature
of the envelop. It requires to compute total heat gain through all its components
of the building. Net heat gain averaged over the entire surface of a building is
correlated with indoor

air temperature. A single storied residential
building comprising two rooms and a kitchen are taken into consideration. In high
humidity prevailing condition the absorbed moisture in building sections increases
and as a result there is a change in thermophysical properties of the material.
Therefore, thermal transfer functions and indoor environment change accordingly.

Authors: Bhatia, Kirti Gandhi; Singh, V R; Bansal, M C; Bhatia, Sanjiv
Abstract: Ultrasonic parameters of bone cyst, a non-neoplastic
tumour, are determined <i>in vitro. </i>Average ultrasonic propagation velocity
and attenuation are found to be in the range 1602 to 1669 ms-1 and 1846
to 2181 dBm-1, respectively. The causes and variation in such values
of propagation velocity and attenuation arc the porosity and complex nature of
the samples used. A direct technique for the diagnosis and differentiation of
abnormal bone can be developed after proper standardization of the data.
