Authors: Sharma, Sudhir Krumar; Ojha, V N
Abstract: The conventional ‘National Standard’ of DC
voltage is maintained as a bank of saturated standard cells. Presently it is
maintained by newly established automated bank of Zener reference standard. In
the present paper we discuss its establishment, properties and traceability.
Furthermore, we discuss about dissemination of unit of volt through traceable calibration
of Zener reference standard (secondary standard/working standard) their sources
of uncertainty in measurements, uncertainty budget and their evaluation based
on the ISO 17025 guidelines (Type A and Type B evaluation).

Authors: Shukla, A K
Abstract: An experiment has been conducted to
demonstrate the benefit of using all the available improved technologies and
yield reduction due to non-adoption of each of the technology for education the
farmers. The maximum yield loss (49 per cent) was observed when the field is
unleveled and not well prepared. This was followed by non-following of weed
control (29 per cent). By omitting other recommended such as non-following of plant
protection. Non-application of fertilizer, no seed treatment and deep sowing, the
yield losses varied between 12-19 per cent. The experiment clearly elucidated that
adoption of all available improved

technologies is essential to boost production
and productivity of soybean.

Authors: Naithani, Suneet
Abstract: Remote sensing and Geographical
Information System (GIS) are the appropriate systems to gather data and later on
its management. The fast development of these systems has rendered simplification
to the management and analysis in this sphere. In GIS (special and non-special)
an important and useful data-base is prepared by means of appropriate
arrangements of data. As a result of this database understanding the maps
becomes simpler. In this paper the uses of the above techniques have been described
with special reference to land management, data management and environmental awareness.

Abstract: Terrorism over the last one decade has affected
the nation to a great deal. The problem of terrorism has been especially prevailing
at the maximum in the northeast states and Jammu & Kashmir. The government has
declared such states as terrorism affected states. The security forces have
been responsible to bring peace to these areas. The security forces face tremendous
amount of difficulties in fulfilling their task. The details have been
discussed in this paper pertaining to tensions and work satisfaction under emergency
and peaceful atmosphere.
