Abstract: &lt;span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:&#xD;
115%;font-family:" times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";="" mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="" lang="EN-US"&gt;Results&#xD;
of a user study conducted over a six-day period in seven public libraries of Nigeria using&#xD;
questionnaire method have been presented. It has been found that 51.5% of users&#xD;
do not use the library daily because the library does not open daily. 48.7% of&#xD;
the user cannot use the library daily because of long distance. 51.2% of the&#xD;
users come to the library on foot. 38.9% of the users are to spend about 40&#xD;
minutes to reach the library. It has been recommended that library should be&#xD;
brought closer to the people and efforts should be made to attract more people&#xD;
to the library.&lt;/span&gt;

medical services and research call for accurate and prompt supply of relevant&#xD;
information and literature. For procurement of appropriate materials and&#xD;
effective dissemination, libraries are indispensable. In order to make the&#xD;
services available throughout the country, good bio-medical libraries have to&#xD;
be developed. Library services available in Bangladesh are poor. Cooperation&#xD;
among libraries and building up a nationwide health information network can&#xD;
ease the problem.&lt;/span&gt;

the importance of reprography in modern libraries and documentation centres. Gives&#xD;
an account of reprographic services of 12 Indian agricultural university libraries&#xD;
An account of equipment, budget, service charges, staff position and problems&#xD;
of these libraries are given. A few proposals for the improvement of&#xD;
reprographic facilities are included.&lt;/span&gt;

attempt has been made to draw attention to the process of growth of knowledge&#xD;
being similar to the process of biological evolution as featured by neo-Darwinism.&#xD;
The idea of memes or idea genes as proposed by Richard Dawkins has been&#xD;
reported and its possible relevance and application to information science, especially&#xD;
for propounding a general theory of information growth, indexing and&#xD;
classification have been considered. Need to shift the focus of interest from&#xD;
the documents or units of literature to the concepts have been stressed.&lt;/span&gt;
