graphite electrode has been compared with that of an electrode which was
roughened by ftuoride intercalation/deintercalation process. 15 MHF
aqueous-methanolic medium was employed for the study of
intercalation/deintercalation as well as some redox processes containing
potassium salt of ferricyanide/ferrocyanide, bromide/bromine and iodide/iodine.
In all the three cases, the redox species were found to adhere to the
electrochemically roughened electrode surface. SEM studies indicate the
formation of small salt crystallites on the surface. The possible impact of
such films on other electron transfer processes is discussed.
