of siro-spun acrylic yarns results in a significant increase in breaking
extension accompanied by a decrease in tenacity. The decrease in tenacity is
more in yarns spun with shorter strand spacing and higher content of
high-shrinkage fibres. Residual shrinkage is more in yarns spun with higher
proportions of high-shrinkage fibres and it decreases with the increasing strand
spacing.

non-ionic surfactants has been studied spectrophotometrically employing Klotz's
method and the binding equilibria by the conductance method. More than one mole
of dye is bound by each mole of surfactant, indicating the existence of
dye-surfactant micelles in addition to that of hydrophobic bonding responsible
for binding. Measurements of critical micelle concentration and binding equilibrium
indicate that association of the dye-surfactant complex can occur to produce
large mixed micelles in solution.

sodium oleyl sulphate in aqueous solution has been measured by the Ross and

reactive dye (Procion Brilliant Blue MR) on foaming efficiency has also been
studied. It has been found that increase in temperature increases the foaming
efficiency whereas the addition of dye decreases it. The effect of dye has been
attributed to the increase in surface tension of surfactant solutions in the
presence of dye.
