explain the creep behaviour of textile fibres. In the classical model, the
dashpot liquid obeyed the Newtonian law. Later models incorporated a dashpot
obeying either a hyperbolic sine law or a power law, both leading to creep
equations containing four model constants. </span>

relationship and the average tex of fibres in hessian quality slivers at
finisher card, and first, second and finisher drawing stages, and in yarns have
been studied separately for the three broad categories of fibres termed
unfolded folded and root (i.e. those originating from the under-retted root
ends or defective parts of raw jute reeds). The tex value of unfolded and
folded fibres increases almost linearly with their length over the length range
5 to 30 cm, and there seems to be no appreciable change in fineness of fibres
over this range at the drawing and spinning stages. In the case of root fibres,
however there is no clear trend in fineness-length relationship. The average
tex of fibres is reduced from finisher card sliver to yarn, the reduction being
more pronounced at the first drawing stage. It is suggested that this is due to
the rupturing and splitting of long fibres (<span style="font-size:11.0pt;
line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;="" mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:arial;mso-ansi-language:="" en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">> <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:="" en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">30 cm) which are generally more branchy and coarser
than the normal ones. The number of unfolded fibres increases but that of
folded fibres decreases from finisher card sliver to yarn. The number of root
fibres remains practically unaltered at all the stages.</span></span></span>
