Authors: Trehan, S K; Dey, S Sekhar; Sen, A K
Abstract: Sweepers have been observed to occur at random throughout the day and night and show a seasonal dependence on both amplitude and rate of occurrence. A close examination of the phenomena shows a great resemblance with the characteristics of VLF emissions. Some of these characteristics are presented in this communication.

Authors: Mathur, D
Abstract: Ghosh and Ghosh [Indian 1 Radio & Space Phys, 11 (1982) 40] have recently suggested the use of a simple equation to calculate the rate constants for ion-molecule reactions. This study points out inadequacies in the suggested approach and draws attention to experimental rate constants which .are orders of magnitude different from the values deduced from the proposed equation.

Authors: Bhattacharya, A B; Bhattacharya, R
Abstract: Observations of the integrated field intensity of VLF atmospherics revealed some interesting features due to their association with the ionospheric effects of a solar flare. The results obtained from an analysis of the observations from Oct 1976 to Sep 1979 are reported here with an emphasis on the occurrences time delay, duration and the magnitude.

Authors: Sastri, J Hanumath
Abstract: It is shown that a conspicuous noontime positive deviation in the asymmetric component or the H field at equatorial electrojet stations, associated with the solar wind on quiet days with Ap ~ 5, does not manifest if abnormal quiet days'(AQDs) and hence the influence of counter-electrojet conditions associated with them are taken into consideration. It is pointed out that the noontime positive swing or the asymmetric component in the H field on quiet days with Ap ~ 5 at electrojet stations is primarily due to changes in the local ionospheric dynamo region rather than in the solar wind.
