Authors: M, Kayalvizhi; E, Yogeshwaran; S, Shrinaath; K, Raghul
Abstract: Promotion of soil-less organic horticulture farming practices in small and large scale markets. The promotion is done in the traditional way of
aquaponics or hydroponics as a separate farming technique. The combination of this technique with the help of automation in a single system will
promote high reach in the development of organic horticulture farming. The automation is done with the help of Arduino for small-scale purposes
and PLC for large-scale purposes. IoT is used for displaying the necessary parameters of the system.

Authors: Verma, Mohit; Priya, C Bharathi
Abstract: Dynamic hybrid simulation is a testing method, which is developed in the past few decades, to find the dynamic response of a structure. It
involves splitting of the structure into two parts: physical substructure that contains the key region of interest, which is tested in a laboratory, and
virtual substructure that contains the remaining part of the structure in the form of a numerical model. This paper presents the implementation of
DHS for response evaluation of a shear building. The bottom storey alone was tested physically in the laboratory. Electromagnetic shaker was
used to emulate the effect of the remaining structure. DHS is found to be an effective tool for dynamic response evaluation of structures.

Authors: Pandey, Jitendra; Tripathi, D D; Sinha, N K; Khalkho, A; Pandey, J K
Abstract: Indeed, 'Agni' or the Fire is foremost important and essential for creature on the mother earth, but it is not well-thought of acceptable for coal
mining fraternity. Despite of so much helpful to the mankind, auto-ignition/ fire in coal mines create several distresses. The problem of spontaneous
combustion or fire in coal mines are became a global catastrophe. Due to fire in coal mines not only loss of huge amount of non-renewal energy
resources, but it also produces several agonies on economy, society and environment of the nation. Despite of other reasons, coal mine fire also
leads an immense impact on global warming. It leads to several complications on safety of the miners as well as productivity of mines. In this
paper, problem associated with coal mine fire, its method of early detection, along with prevention and control methodologies used worldwide are
discussed.

Authors: Kumari, Manju; Vijayan, N; Nayak, Debabrata; Yadav, Sudha; Kiran; Pant, R P
Abstract: The benchmark of life and quality infrastructure of a nation is mainly dependent on the measurement system of country. The growth of nation in
addition to its science & technology is highly influenced by measurement of any physical quantities or policies. The ancient as well as modern
sciences predominantly rely on the measurement procedure and its accuracy. One can say that science starts from measurements hence it can
be considered as one of the basic aspect of science and its growth. To perform these measurements which are basis of life, simple to sophisticated
equipment's are used. The results from these instruments may be not accurate and precise if it is not calibrated. With calibration there is
need of comparable measurement to attain the unbroken chain of measurements. Now Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) played critical
role in calibration of instrument and to get the comparable measurements which are traceable to national or world-wide standards. The outcomes of sophisticated instruments may be wrong without its calibration. So now it is the time for the scientific and new innovations world to calibrate
the sophisticated instruments using these certified reference standards. These CRMs are generally produced and maintained by "National
Measurement Institute (NMI)" of the country. In India, Bharatiya Nirdeshak Dravya (BND®) division of National Physical Laboratory (NPL)
is continuously working in developing the Indian Reference Materials (IRMs). Now these IRMs can be defined as those substances which are
key factors for maintaining a healthy measurement system and to get very precise value. With this these are cost effective IRMs which will
improve the quality of products and will help in economic growth of the country. In this article, we are discussing about that measurements which
are attached to each steps of our life. But it is necessary that measurement should be accurate and precise and traceable to some true value.
CSIR-NPL is continuously focused on the development of IRMs for calibration of instrument, improvement in quality of life, industrial production,
global trade and to get accurate and precise measurements.
