Authors: Dhage, H M; Deshmukh, A R; Birajdar, S S; Kumbharkhane, A C
Abstract: The dielectric relaxation measurements of 2-nitrotoluene (2-NT) with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) for 11 different
concentrations have been carried out in the frequency range from 10 MHz to 50 GHz using time domain reflectometry
method. In this frequency range, a dielectric relaxation spectrum of 2-NT-DMSO mixtures shows Debye type relaxation
behaviour. The static dielectric constant, dielectric relaxation time, Kirkwood correlation factor, excess dielectric properties
have been determined from 20oC to 5oC. The excess dielectric and Kirkwood correlation factor gives the information about
formation and orientation of electric dipoles in the mixture. As the concentration of 2-NT in DMSO increases, dipole
changes its orientation from anti-parallel to parallel. The thermodynamic parameters (enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs free
energy) have been determined from the relaxation time using least squares fit method.

Authors: Shit, Prasenjit; Singha, Raju
Abstract: A one-pot two-step methodology has been developed for the synthesis of 4,5-dibromo-3,6-diarylpyridazines starting from easily available starting material 1,4-diarylbuta-1,3-diynes. The reaction goes through the electrophilic addition of Br+ ion with alkyne bonds followed by nucleophilic addition of hydrazine and intramolecular cyclization.

Authors: Mashraqui, Sabir Hussain; Ghorpade, Sushil S; Khan, Tabrez; Sharma, Brijesh M
Abstract: A weakly fluorescent acid-base pair formed by reacting fluorescent acridine orange with the quencher picric acid is reported for the detection of basic fluoride and acetate anions. Deprotonation by these anions causes disengagement of the fluorescent acridine orange from the quencher, picric acid. This phenomenon cancels the quenching existing in the native probe, thereby allowing for the optical signalling of fluoride and acetate anions by colour modulation as well as fluorescence switch-on response. Anions such as Br, I, Cl, NO3, SCN, HSO4, and H2PO4 offer no detectable interference even when in excess concentration.

Abstract: Novel oxime analogs have been synthesized from the tricyclic scaffolds. A series of iminoesters have been synthesized by
reacting oximes with anti-inflammatory drugs such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Etodolac, Aceclofenac, Flurbiprofen in the
presence of the coupling agent N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide.
