Authors: Sakare, Priyanka; Giri, Saroj Kumar; Kate, Adinath
Abstract: Antinutritional factors (ANFs) in the soybean limit its consumption in raw form. Although sprouting reduces ANFs to a
certain extent, they are still beyond the safe limit of human consumption, limiting soybean consumption in sprouted form. The
inactivation of soybean ANFs necessitates adequate heat treatment. Therefore, in the present study, post-sprouting infrared (IR)
treatment was given to reduce ANFs, particularly trypsin inhibitors. The effects of IR power density (4250–4750 W/m2),
exposure time (4–8 min), and stage of germination (5–11 mm length of sprouts) on color, firmness, and Trypsin Inhibitor
Activity (TIA) were investigated. The response surface methodology was used to optimize the responses. The optimum
conditions were 4497.5 W/m2 IR power, 4 min exposure time, and 5.54 mm germination stage (average sprout length). The
color difference, firmness, and TIA values obtained at optimal conditions were 2.43, 24.66 N, and 2.458 mg/g, respectively.
Sprouting and IR combination treatment efficiently lowered the TIA to a safe level (~77% reduction from raw soybean) while
retaining the quality of the sprouted grains. The study suggests that combination treatment can be effectively used to produce
ready-to-eat soybean sprouts.

Authors: Thakur, Sanjay; Barai, Ranjit Kumar
Abstract: A novel Optimal Robust Controller (ORC) for reducing vibration in a flexible link manipulator has been designed in this
work. Compared to stiff link manipulators, flexible link manipulators have advantages, but they also have problems
including link vibration, model uncertainty, and outside disruptions. The ORC aims to address these challenges and improve
the positioning of the flexible links by reducing the link vibrations. Using the Assumed Mode Method (AMM), the dynamic
model of a two-link flexible manipulator has been developed in order to create the ORC. With two mode shapes taken into
consideration for each link, the deflection of the links has been modelled using mode shapes. The ORC has been designed to
achieve robust performance in vibration reduction, even in the presence of unmatched model uncertainty. Proof of the
matching condition of the uncertainty has been given, and the closed-loop stability of the resulting system has been
established. The value of the uncertain parameter has been purposefully changed to illustrate the robustness of the created
controller. For comparison purposes, a well-known reliable controller called the Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) has also
been developed. The performance of the proposed ORC has been compared with that of the SMC in the simulation section,
and the ORC is determined to be more effective at minimizing vibration.

Abstract: Successful exploitation of Open Government Data (OGD) in domain of environment and environmental protection
requires development of the regulations and methods for assessment of quality of OGD with the aim to promote innovation
in the public sector and pave the way towards the achievement of smarter government services. OGD have huge potential in
this regard. This paper focuses on the assessment of how quality aspect of OGD influences their utilization for obtaining
useful information needed for enhancing environmental protection. Our evaluation considers factors such as dataset quality,
information value, smartness, and legislative compliance. Research findings suggest that open government datasets
pertaining to environmental protection require further refinement to improve their information gain. Furthermore, we discuss
legal aspect of open data provision as a valuable factor which can contribute to the successful adoption of open data for
environmental protection.

Abstract: The key objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of Multi-Criteria Decision-
Making (MCDM) methods in papers published in prominent journals within the WoS database related to tourism. Based on
the 252 papers which met the search criteria, this study determined the most commonly used MCDM methods as well as the
reasons for their application. The study also identified the authors who employed the methods in their papers and whether or
not the papers are team-oriented. The time frame within which the papers were published, along with the publishing trends
within the specific period and finally, a model intended for predicting the developing trends within this research area was
developed. Finally, the application of social network analysis gave an insight into the intellectual structure of the subject
discipline and pointed to the most influential papers that were the subject of the content analysis.
