Authors: Kumar, Indresh; Dhingra, Bhavna
Abstract: Experts have suggested several community-based approaches to achieve a balanced diet, such as biofortification, food supplementation,
and dietary diversification. Among them, dietary diversification or dietary diversity is an easy and effective measure. The main objective of
this study is to demonstrate the utility of diet diversity by reviewing studies that aim to improve the quality of food through dietary diversity
and to investigate the relationship between the dietary diversity index and nutrient adequacy. Research papers published in the last 10 years
have been included in this study, sourced from various electronic data hubs. The collected papers were analyzed using the traditional review
method. This study shows a significant difference in the dietary diversity index in the intervention groups compared to the control groups.
Dietary diversity has been shown to have a linear relationship with the adequacy of micronutrients, while the coefficient correlated with
macronutrients was found to be neutral. The reviewed research articles suggest an in-depth study at the local level for the validation of dietary
diversity measurement methods and index standardization.

Authors: Singh, Bhanu Prakash
Abstract: This exploration into natural radiation's origins within Earth's environment covers its historical progression, health and environmental
impacts, and the essential evaluation and regulation of these sources. It underscores the need for understanding and establishing safety
measures, encompassing types, exposure methods, health effects, regulations, and future challenges. As a matter of fact, cosmic, terrestrial,
and internal elements contribute to natural radiation. Cosmic rays from the outer space, terrestrial sources like uranium, and internal
absorption from within the body may pose health risks. Measurement units like Roentgen, Gray, Sievert, and Becquerel regulate exposure,
vital for safeguarding health and the environment. Exposure assessment tools like Thermos-Luminescent Dosimeter (TLD), Optical Stimulated
Luminescent (OSL) dosimeters, and gamma spectrometry measure doses and identify radioisotopes. Biological dosimetry evaluates radiation
effects on living organisms, offering insights into health risks and management strategies. Advancements like gamma-ray spectrometry and
digital Geiger Muller (GM) Counters enhance understanding and data precision in various environments, enabling risk assessment and
regulatory compliance. Attempts have been made to touch upon the health risks like lung cancer, genetic mutations, tissue damage, emphasizing
the need for extensive research and safety strategies. International regulatory frameworks manage natural radiation risks, with nations setting
varying limits. Environmental impact studies aim to preserve safety for future generations.

Authors: Theodore, Rita; Prasanna, N K
Abstract: Professionals who risk their lives for serving the people are considered 'Heros'. There are many professions which are perilous and unsafe
considering the risk involved in the performance of duties. In general, Medical Health workers fall under this category and within this category
one such occupation is that of Paramedics. The risk with which Paramedics are working now-a-days was never envisaged in their job
description or job profile. Unfortunately, there is negligible research on safety and security of Paramedics. Since this is much sought-for profession due to its short-term professional training, many either are not aware of the risk or knowingly risk their lives in the absence of
protective gears. Many paramedics perish without an investigation of the causes of death in terms of professional conduct. Therefore,
Paramedics many a times are compelled to risk their lives while saving others. Paramedics face unforeseen challenges due to its complex and
evolving nature which requires constant adaptation to technological advances, regulatory changes, and diverse patient needs. Providing
paramedical care requires efficient coordination, skilled tactics, and adaptable strategies. Paramedical service is one of the most sensitive
professions which entails direct connection, emotionally, physically, mentally and sometimes financially also with patients. There is an urgent
need to attend and to resolve the challenges faced by Paramedics in the changing technologies in healthcare industry.

Authors: Yadav, Sarad Kumar
Abstract: Human activities are having a negative impact on ecosystems around the world. Activities such as overexploitation of natural resources,
indiscriminate deforestation and industrial pollution have not only disturbed the ecological balance but also caused great loss of agricultural
production and biodiversity. This situation most affects the lives of communities who depend on water, forests and land for their livelihood.
In fact, this situation can be seen as a direct result of the neoliberal economic framework, which promotes uncontrolled exploitation and
excessive consumption of natural resources. Neoliberal economics, which emerged as a dominant economic theory in the eighties, emphasized
market freedom, privatization, and abolition of regulation. In this system, excessive and uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources has
been carried out for economic growth, which is a matter of serious concern. In this context, India's philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'which
considers all living beings as one family, presents a relevant alternative. This philosophy inspires us to adopt a more responsible attitude
towards the environment and move on the path of sustainable development.
