Abstract: The increasing demand for stainless steel across various industries has prompted researchers to develop efficient
and viable methods for welding steel and its alloys. This study has been aimed to conduct a thorough and critical assessment
of the current state of welding techniques for joining different stainless steel materials. In this systematic review,
we have seriously assessed the process parameters and performance of CMT. CMT is an advanced form of the
MIG welding. Additionally, the application of CMT welding in different material combinations has been thoroughly
examined and compared to alternative joining methods. In this study, the latest developments in the field of stainless-steel
welding has been explored, focusing on the improvement of mechanical properties and advancements in high-performance
welding techniques. This organized review has been followed an accurate methodology involving an extensive search
and selection criteria of relevant available literature and industrial reports. The evaluation of mechanical and
microstructural properties has provided valuable insights into the performance and weld excellence. The CMT welding,
being an advanced approach, has garnered considerable attention from researchers, particularly in exploring its application
in joining stainless steels.

Authors: Singh, Shwetabh; Khan, K L A; Kumar, Harish
Abstract: Additive manufacturing, often known as 3D printing, is a breakthrough industrial technology that employs computerized
design files to layer products one by one. This study discusses the application of one such progressive manufacturing
approach. AM is flexible, adaptable, highly configurable and can be tailored to suit the needs of most sectors of industrial
production. An overview of the various materials appropriate with each 3D printing process has been presented. The
literature reviewed has shown that issues such as incompatible material and the costs of materials are still to be addressed,
even though 3D printing is becoming more widely used. There may be a broad range of materials that can be used to produce
these parts and objects. These include combinations in form of composite products, hybrids, or functional graded materials
such as metals, ceramics, and polymers. To accomplish this performance through anticipatory and replicative methods, a
large amount of work is still needed at AM about its two major enabling technology namely AM materials and AM metrology.
The positive aspect is that industry is extremely proactive in establishing AM as one of the most prominent manufacturing
engineering methods.

Authors: Gogoi, Kalpana; Tetseo, Menuvolu; Kumar, Gaurav; Rathore, Pradeep Kumar; Kumar, Shashi; Rangababu, Peesapati; Singh, Jaspreet; Panwar, Brishbhan Singh
Abstract: A simulation study on curved MOSFET-based current mirror integrated pressure sensors (CM-CMIPS) has been
presented in this paper. The pressure sensing structures studied in this work have contained circular and square curved
MOSFETs embedded on circular and square silicon diaphragms. The proposed pressure sensors have utilized the
piezoresistive effect in MOSFETs as transduction mechanism and have employed current mirror circuits as readout circuits
for detecting the externally applied input pressure. This work has included a comparative study for the following six
pressure sensing structures: two structures each utilizing a p-type and n-type circular curved channel MOSFET embedded on
circular diaphragms, two structures each utilizing a p-type and n-type square curved channel MOSFET embedded on square
diaphragms, one structure consisting of both p- and n-type circular curved channel MOSFETs each embedded on two
separate circular diaphragms, and the last one consisting of both p- and n-type square curved channel MOSFETs each
embedded on two separate square diaphragms. The proposed CM-CMIPS sensors have been designed using standard 5μm
CMOS technology. The pressure sensitivities of square-shaped CM-CMIPS employing p-MOS, n-MOS, and CMOS
(both p- and n-MOS) structures have been found to be approximately 515, 407, 2151 mV/MPa, respectively, and 505, 661,
2223 mV/MPa, respectively, for the circular-shaped sensors.

Title: Comparative analysis of performance under seismicity, wind variability, and coastal environments across 16 prominent Indian urban centers: Hybrid tanks versus standard RCC water tanks
Authors: Saxena, Sukanya; Pathak, Krishna Kant
Abstract: This study has compared Hybrid Tanks and Standard RCC water tanks in 16 prominent cities across India, considering
diverse seismic zones, wind speeds, and the influence of coastal and non-coastal variations. The chosen cities have
represented a range of seismic zones: Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Puducherry (Zone II); Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Lucknow,
Chennai (Zone III); Shimla, Alibag, Delhi, Dwaraka (Zone IV); and Mandi, Kohima, Imphal, Guwahati (Zone V).
Encompassing all seismic zones and considering wind velocities of 39 m/s, 44 m/s, 47 m/s, and 50 m/s, the study has
designed 600 kL Intze water tanks utilizing C++ software programs developed for both tank types. The findings have
revealed that seismic base shear has significantly increased as seismic zones have progressed, with rises of approximately
60%, 140%, and 260% in Zones III, IV, and V, respectively, compared to Zone II. Coastal cities have experienced higher
wind shear forces, leading to increased costs. Wind forces have often surpassed seismic forces in coastal regions. Tank costs
have risen with changing wind speeds and seismic activity zones, particularly in coastal areas, for both Hybrid and Standard
RCC tanks. These findings have emphasized the crucial role of considering seismic zones, coastal effects, and wind
dynamics in water tank infrastructure design and construction.
Hybrid tanks have outperformed Standard RCC ones with 22–23% cost savings, 28% less concrete (38.6% in body, 12–
15% in staging), and 17.5% less steel (13.3% in body, 19.9% in staging). They have shown reduced base shear (up to 5%
full, 15% empty tank), 5% less bending moment, 11% less deflection (full), 40.1% less deflection (empty tank), and crack
width has been reduced by 63–87%, making them a promising alternative nationwide.
