    <description>Title: The overhauling of textile speciality chemicals
Authors: Mehra, R H; Mehra, Anil R; Mehra, Arun R
Abstract: An attempt&#xD;
has been made to look at the textile speciality chemicals industry from the&#xD;
grassroot level. The&#xD;
transition in the fibre-mix&#xD;
processing is changing the textile chemical scenario constantly and with this&#xD;
back-drop the textile chemicals are reviewed with a peep into the wonder&#xD;
moieties which go into the making of these speciality chemicals.

    <description>Title: Recent advances in the development of silk-like polyester fabrics
Authors: Bajaj, Pushpa
Abstract: Silk-like polyester fibres have been one of the most&#xD;
important targets for the textile industry in the present era. Key technologies&#xD;
starting from fibre engineering to finishing process have been illustrated for&#xD;
producing silky polyester fabrics with bulky hand touch and superior drape.&#xD;
Effects of polymer additives, delustrants, surfactants, etc. on alkaline&#xD;
hydrolysis of polyester fabrics for improving silk-like characteristics have&#xD;
also been highlighted.

    <title>Surface modification of fibre and polymeric materials by discharge treatment and its application to textile processing</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/19292</link>
    <description>Title: Surface modification of fibre and polymeric materials by discharge treatment and its application to textile processing
Authors: Wakida, Tomiji; Tokino, Seiji
Abstract: The effect&#xD;
of discharge treatments such as low-temperature plasma treatment, atmospheric&#xD;
low temperature plasma treatment and sputter-etching on the surface&#xD;
characteristics of different textile fibres and polymeric materials has been&#xD;
investigated. The plasma treatment causes mainly chemical modification&#xD;
&#xD;
and&#xD;
increases wetting and adhesion, whereas sputter-etching produces a number of&#xD;
protrusions on the surface and leads to increase in adhesion and decrease in&#xD;
light reflection, thereby increasing the depth of shade considerably.

    <title>Recent developments in colour measurement and colour management</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/19291</link>
    <description>Title: Recent developments in colour measurement and colour management
Authors: Sule, A D
Abstract: Developments&#xD;
during the past five years in the field of computer colour measurement,&#xD;
specification and recipe prediction have now reached a very high level of&#xD;
accuracy and reproducibility. These developments have facilitated colour&#xD;
communication, harmonization and reproduction for the first time. The most&#xD;
interesting applications of these developments are on-line colour measurement&#xD;
coupled with process monitoring and reproduction of colour on the monitor of&#xD;
the computer. Software for prediction of recipes today incorporates artificial&#xD;
intelligence. Dispensing of dye powder, paste or solution using colour matching&#xD;
computer is now a state-of&#xD;
the-art. This article reviews these developments which have benefited not&#xD;
only the colourist but also the designer and the management.
