find out the major information source of the rural agriculturists (farmers) a&#xD;
survey was conducted in the district of Burdwan in West&#xD;
 Bengal. Findings show that the most important information sources&#xD;
are personal experience, friends, neighbours, relatives, family members, fellow&#xD;
professionals and persons in agricultural offices. Attempts have also been made&#xD;
to identify the day-to-day problems of the rural agriculturists, and the&#xD;
sources of information to solve such problems.&lt;/span&gt;

attempt has been made to use CDS/ISIS package (version 1.0) for the creation of&#xD;
subject index to National Union Catalogue of Scientific Serials in India (NUCSSI)&#xD;
data base. The subject index helps the user to know the titles available under&#xD;
a particular subject covered in the data base. The subject index has subject&#xD;
code, UDC number and subject heading selected from the key title of the serial.&#xD;
Searches can be made through anyone of them.&lt;/span&gt;

long sample observation of card catalogue consultation by users at the Kakatiya&#xD;
University Library, Warangal&#xD;
has been made and results recorded. Users have been subsequently questioned&#xD;
about the purposes for which the catalogue was consulted. The study revealed&#xD;
that the classified catalogue is not used at all and the author and title&#xD;
catalogue are consulted to the maximum. It is also found that 80% of the&#xD;
consultations of card catalogue are to locate documents, 10% is to make&#xD;
comprehensive search for references on a topic and rest for miscellaneous&#xD;
purposes.&lt;/span&gt;

the job attitudes and job satisfaction of junior staff in University of Calabar&#xD;
library. Data was gathered by a questionnaire from a sample from the staff of&#xD;
university library. The analysis of data reveals that majority of staff are not&#xD;
satisfied with their pay, working conditions and lack of facilities to improve&#xD;
their talents. Suggests interaction between subordinates and supervisors,&#xD;
provision of better facilities and involvement of junior staff in decision&#xD;
making.&lt;/span&gt;
