Title: Contribution of fibre profile and twist factor to flexural rigidity and elastic recovery of polyester fibre yarns
Authors: Kaushik, R C D; Tyagi, G K; Chatterjee, K N
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" calibri;mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:="" en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The flexural rigidity is highest for 2.5 denier
trilobal fibres followed by 3 denier trilobal fibres and 3 denier circular
fibres. An increase in twist factor results in a significant increase in yarn
flexural rigidity. The yarns spun from fine denier fibres show higher elastic
recovery. However, for both trilobal and circular fibres, twist factor has no
effect on yam elastic recovery.</span>

Contribution of ringframe drafting condition to yarn count variability in fine counts

Title: Contribution of ringframe drafting condition to yarn count variability in fine counts
Authors: Balasubramanian, N; Janakiraman, C
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" calibri;mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:="" en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The results presented show that the old drafting
systems at ringframe can be a source of yarn count variability in fine counts.
Slippage of strand takes place under the drafting rollers under such
conditions, leading to count variation. Frame-to-frame variation in count is
encountered and individual frame-wise control in place of traditional group
control is advantageous in keeping down the count variability between frames. C
and D types of classimat faults and winding breaks also increase. Use of bigger
diameter cots, incorporation of washer under the spring and renovation of top
arm are shown as some interim measures helpful to bring down the count
variability. The replacement of the old top arm by the second generation top
arm helps ultimately in bringing the count variability well under control.</span>

dyes is discussed. The dyeing performance of the dyes on different fibres has
also been assessed.</span>

Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;

were carried out in a single-step process under acidic conditions with a view
to economized dyeing and finishing. The properties of the finished fabric, viz.
colour strength, crease recovery and wash fastness were comparable to those of
the fabrics dyed and finished by the conventional double-step process. Work on
optimizing the process parameters viz. catalyst concentration and curing
temperature, was also carried out. The duration of curing was kept constant in
all the experiments. Incorporation of acrylamide in the padding bath of
single-step process improved the colour yield.</span>
