Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;

to be held in spinning in various counts bas been worked out The total stock has
been divided into three main parts: (a) mixing and blow room, (b) on-machine
stock, and (c) off-machine stock. If proper balancing of production is ensured,
the on-machine stock is automatically fixed. The off-machine stock will depend
on the demand for back material, which, in general, follows a negative
exponential distribution. The criterion for fixing the off-machine stock should
be the peak demand, which is almost twice the normal demand.

Title: A Colorimetric Method for the Estimation of Chromium in Wool

Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;

the estimation of chromi_ in wool based on the use of EDTA as the chelating
agent is reported. The method involves dry ashing of the wool pie, oxidation of
Cr(III) to Cr(VI) using nitric acid potassium chlorate, reduction of Cr(VI) to
Cr(III) by treatment with ascorbic add and finally complex formation with EDTA
solution. The chromium-EDTA complex gives an absorption maximum at 546 nm. The stability
of the complex is much greater than those of the complex obtained with the
currency used chelating agents, viz. diphenylcarbazide and <span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:mangal;mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;mso-ansi-language:="" en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">haematoxylin<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:="" en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">. accurate.

Title: Quantitative Extraction of Vat Dyes from Dyed Cellulosic Material
Authors: Mehta, D. S.; Chavhan, R. S.; Mehta, H. U.
Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;

existing methods for the extraction of dyes from dyed materials are brought out
with supporting literature. An efficient technique based on aqueous preswelling
of the dyed substrate and subsequent extraction of the dye with o-chlorophenol
(OCP) is described. The effectiveness of this technique is supported by the
experimental values for five selected vat dyes of different structures. The
dyes are stable in boiling OCP and also during storage. The mechanism of dye
removal from dyed cellophane is studied with the aid of scanning electron
microscopes.
