described in present study. Large
tumour masses were found under the operculum.
Tumour is characterized by the multilobed and pale to red in color and
located in the brachial chamber of the fish. It varied in consistency from very
soft and triable to hard and also vary in size from 17 mm to 33 mm in diameter
and 18 to 44 mm in length. Prevalence
study revealed that the higher incidence (0.046 %) of branchioblastoma was
reported in Cuddalore in pre-monsoon 2011 and lower (0.010 %) in Parangipettai
at summer 2010. Histopathologic examinations revealed that the chondroid tissue
with basophilic nodules and the fibrovascular stroma were present in the tumour
tissue. Presence of dark stained nucleus
and also the granular cells were typical in the tumour tissue. This is the
first report of branchioblastoma in Indian marine waters.

Authors: Sakthivel, Kollimalai; Fernando, S. Antony
Abstract: Gastropods list
prepared from Mudasal Odai (Lat.11°29'N; Long. 79°46' E) and Nagapattinam (Lat.
10° 46' N; Long. 79° 59' E) coast of Tamil Nadu, south east India. List
consists 75 species, 45 genera and 31 families in Mudasal Odai and 67 species,
42 genera and 29 families in Nagapattinam coast. Among the 31 families 21 are
single genera, 7 are two genera and 3 are three genera and in 45 genera 28 of
the have single representives, 2 of them are four species, and 1 of that is
have six species in Mudasal Odai landing centre. Out of 29 families 20 of them are single
genera, 4 of them are two genera, 2 of them are three genera and 1 of that is
four genera and in 42 genera 28 of them have single species, 2 of them have four
species and 1 of that is have 5 species in Nagapatinam landing centre. Among the families three are (Naticidae,
Muricidae and Nassariidae) dominant in both landing centre. Among the 76 species 10 of them are dominant,
23 of them are abundant, 14 of them are co-abundant, 28 of them are present 1
of that absent in Mudasal Odai, among the species, 14 of them are dominant, 19
of them are abundant, 13 of them are co-abundant, 21 of them are present and 8
of them are absent in Nagapattinam coast.

Performance, combustion and emission characteristic of a marine engine running on grape seed oil biodiesel blends with nano additive

Title: Performance, combustion and emission characteristic of a marine engine running on grape seed oil biodiesel blends with nano additive
Authors: Karthikeyan, S.; Elango, A.; Marimuthu, P.; Prathima, A.
Abstract: Present study provides the
effect of Cerium Oxide (CeO2) nano fuel additives on the
performance, combustion and emission characteristics of a Grape Seed Oil Methyl
Ester (GSOME). Biodiesel blended fuel is
prepared by the emulsification technique with the aid of a mechanical
agitator. Prepared biodiesel emulsion
fuels were mixed with the CeO2 nanoparticles in the mass fractions
of 50 and 100 ppm with the help of an ultrasonicator. Fuel properties of B20 (80% Diesel + 20%
GSOME), B20CeO250 (80% Diesel + 20% GSOME + 50ppm CeO2), B20CeO2100
(80%Diesel + 20% GSOME + 100ppm CeO2) and neat biodiesel were
studied and compared according to ASTM standard test methods for biodiesel. Study
is carried out at a constant speed of 1500rpm.
Experimental results show a significant improvement in the performance
and a reduction in harmful emissions for the CeO2 nano additive
biodiesel emulsion fuels compared to those of B20.

of the prediction of the movement of oil slicks and diffusion oil
particles in the water column. Model has
previously been developed <span style="font-size:9.0pt;
font-family:" times="" new="" roman","serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";="" mso-ansi-language:en-gb;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:fa"="" lang="EN-GB">in the

This model has been run for oil spill accident
between Khark Island and Busher Port in winter (2005). Model predicts concentration distribution of
oil particles and current speeds and directions for 1.7, 7 and 14 hours after
spill accident in the water column in 5,10 and 15 meters levels. Numerical
results show that oil particles spread towards Khark Island and away from Busher Port in winter.
Diffusion oil particles in the water column due to more turbulence are
larger. Spreading follow the flow fields
that are in good agreement with flow field observations and valid theories and
experiment of data runs.
