<title>Growth &amp; Decay of Irregularities in the Ionosphere-A New Approach</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/36946</link>
<description>Title: Growth &amp; Decay of Irregularities in the Ionosphere-A New Approach
Authors: Vats, Hari Om
Abstract: A simple approach to infer the growth and decay of irregularities in the ionosphere is outlined. This should be useful for various methods of investigating dynamics and nature of the irregularities such as ionospheric drift, spaced receiver scintillation and partial reflection technique. The basis of this approach is the quantitative comparison of temporal variation of observed drift speed and fading rate simultaneously.

<title>Effect of HF Noise in Correlation Analysis of Spaced Receiver Experiments</title>

<description>Title: Effect of HF Noise in Correlation Analysis of Spaced Receiver Experiments
Authors: Chandra, H
Abstract: Effects of HF noise in the auto- and cross-correlation functions of the spaced receiver amplitude fading or scintillation records are studied on theoretical grounds. It is shown that the drift speed remains unaffected; however, there could be large underestimation of the size of the ground diffraction pattern. Normalization of the auto- and cross-correlation functions is, therefore, advocated if all the parameters are to be evaluated correctly.

    <title>Ionospheric Drift Measurements at Tiruchirapalli - 2.Results of Cross-spectral Analysis</title>

<description>Title: Ionospheric Drift Measurements at Tiruchirapalli - 2.Results of Cross-spectral Analysis
Authors: Vyas, G D; Chandra, H; Rastogi, R G
Abstract: About 600 spaced-fading records obtained from ionospheric E- and F-region reflections over TiruchirapalIi, during the period 1973-75 have been subjected to the cross-spectrum analysis 0 f Jones and Maude [Nature, Lond., 206 (1965), 177] to examine for the dispersive motions. Majority of the records showed no evidence of dispersion. In all, 30% of the records showed dispersion and that too mainly positive dispersion (about 25% of cases).

    <title>On the Growth &amp; Decay of Blanketing Sporadic-E Layers</title>

<description>Title: On the Growth &amp; Decay of Blanketing Sporadic-E Layers
Authors: Sastri, J Hanumath
Abstract: Evidence is presented from I-min interval ionogram data to show that strong blanketing-layer-type ionization irregularities at E-region altitudes can occasionalIy decay, in a span of about 4 min, at stations in the vicinity of the geomagnetic dip equator.
