Title: Age and growth in the estuarine clam Katelysia opima (Gmelin) from the Vellar Estuary
Authors: Kalyanasundaram, M; Than, R Kasina
Abstract: Age and growth in K. opima was determined by various methods, viz. length frequency distribution, probability plot, Von Bertalanffy's equation and Ford-Walford graph. The results showed that the clam attain a length of 26.65, 36.2 and 43.15 mm during 1st, 2nd and 3rd year respectively.

Title: Meiofauna of some sandy beaches of Andaman Islands
Authors: Ansari, Z A; Ingole, B S
Abstract: Comparatively high meiofauna numbers were recorded from beaches having fine sand particles than those having coarse to medium sand particles. The fauna was dominated mainly by nematodes (53.7%), harpacticoids (13.7%) and polychaetes (12.8%). On all the beaches, meiofauna concentrated in the upper 4 cm layer of the sediment. Nematodes, polychaetes and oligochaetes were present throughout the column of 10 cm core.

Authors: Matkar, V M; Mathew, E; Chhapgar, B F; Mulay, C D; Pillai, K C
Abstract: Plutonium uptake from seawater by Dunaliella indicated kd (ratio of Pu in alga to that in seawater) factors of 104 similar to those obtained for sediments. However transfer ratios for Pu from contaminated sediments for Meretrix was 10-4 for short term periods ranging up to 20 days.

Title: Lipid content in surface water of Arabian Sea
Authors: Bhosle, N B; D'silva, C; Reddy, C V G
Abstract: Total lipid values varied from 165 - 293 µg l-1. Polar fraction was the major constituent (57 – 85%) of total lipid.
