Authors: Prakash, Ravitej Y; Boganarasimhaiah, Mohan C; Gangadharaiah, Anantha Prasad M
Abstract: This paper presents the review on fabrication, Microstructural analysis, and Mechanical Characterization of Zircon silicate Particles (ZrSiO4) / Aluminum Alloy composite using the stir casting method. Aluminum alloy is known for its low density, high ratio of strength and weight, improved mechanical property, and corrosion resistance. Particulate reinforcement is widely preferred because of its isotropic properties which ease the homogenous distribution with the aluminum and its alloy. Zirconparticles (ZrSiO4) are the combination of ZrO2, SiO2, Fe3O2, TiO2, and Al2O3. This review encapsulates the recent research work on different fabrication techniques, different characterizations, Microstructural analysis, and Fractroscopic studies on different Aluminum alloy matrix and ceramic materials reinforcement combination composites which improve physical, Corrosion resistant, microstructural, and mechanical properties.

    <title>Constitutive model of GH4720Li high temperature nickel base alloy at high strain rate and large temperature range</title>

    <description>Title: Constitutive model of GH4720Li high temperature nickel base alloy at high strain rate and large temperature range
Authors: Chen, Jie; Wang, Zhijun; Zhang, Haifeng; Zhang, Hongtao; Yang, Qingxiang; Ye, Longhai
Abstract: The dynamic mechanical properties of GH4720Li nickel base superalloy under high and low strain rates in a wide&#xD;
temperature range have been studied, and a constitutive model with higher fitting progress have been established. The&#xD;
experimental results show that the abnormal phenomenon of dynamic mechanical properties of GH4720Li alloy appears&#xD;
under the condition of high strain rate. This is because the change of Cr (MO) content in precipitates and the change of&#xD;
precipitate morphology lead to the difference of dynamic mechanical properties of GH4720Li alloy at high and low strain&#xD;
rates. Besides, A new piecewise function model based on a phenomenological representation of the stress-strain curves is&#xD;
proposed to describe the constitutive equation of Nickel-based superalloy GH4720Li of stress-strain curves. Meanwhile,&#xD;
new methods to obtain the material constant k and C are proposed to predicted accurately the flow stress. The comparison&#xD;
between calculated values and experimental values based on the new constitutive modeling shows that these methods for&#xD;
obtaining material constants k and C are valid and the new function model is significant for establishing constitutive&#xD;
equations of Nickel-based superalloy GH4720Li in hot deformation processes.

    <title>Depth Profiles of Residual Stresses in Inconel 718Machined with Uncoated and Coated Tools</title>

    <description>Title: Depth Profiles of Residual Stresses in Inconel 718Machined with Uncoated and Coated Tools
Authors: Satyanarayana, K; Ravi, N; Reddy, T Karthik; Rajkiran, K; Saxena, Kuldeep K
Abstract: Inconel 718 is one of the super-alloy materials, belonging to nickel-chromium alloy family, which has major applications&#xD;
in aerospace sector such as engine parts and turbine components. Durability of these components during engineering&#xD;
performance is affected by residual stresses induced in them in the course of their manufacturing processes. The concept of&#xD;
the present paper is to provide an insight view of induced residual stresses in Inconel 718 work piece, when machined with&#xD;
coated (TiN) and uncoated tools at optimum conditions. For this purpose, turning experiments have been conducted on&#xD;
IN718 material through statistical approach using L9 orthogonal array. Taguchi optimization method is exercised with the&#xD;
emphasis on minimizing the cutting forces resulted during machining. The residual stresses generated in the work piece at&#xD;
the optimum conditions employed for both the tools have been evaluated using XRD method. Conditions such as cutting&#xD;
speed of 60 m/min, feed at 0.068 mm/rev and depth-of-cut of 0.10 mm have been optimized for achieving minimum cutting&#xD;
forces during machining of IN 718 using both coated and uncoated tools. However, tensile stresses on the initial surface&#xD;
layer and compressive stresses in the sub-surface layers are found higher in the work piece material machined with uncoated&#xD;
tool. Surface roughness and temperature developed on the surface of the machined bar are higher in case of uncoated tool&#xD;
than those with coated tool.

    <title>Effect of pre-weld tempers on mechanical and microstructural behavior of dissimilar friction stir welds of AA2014 and AA7075</title>

    <description>Title: Effect of pre-weld tempers on mechanical and microstructural behavior of dissimilar friction stir welds of AA2014 and AA7075
Authors: Kumar, Raj; Upadhyay, Vikas; Sharma, Chaitanya
Abstract: In this work, friction stir welding of AA2014 and AA7075 has beenperformed indifferent combinationsof T6 and O&#xD;
temperto study the influence of base metal temper on microstructure, mechanical properties, and fracture behavior of&#xD;
developed welds. Four dissimilar welded joints have been developed using optimum process parameters:AA2014-T6 with&#xD;
AA7075-T6, AA2014-O with AA7075-T6, AA2014-T6 with AA7075-O, and AA2014-O with AA7075-O. The stir&#xD;
zonemicrostructurehas been dominated by the base metal placed on the advancing side and hasequiaxed grains without&#xD;
constituent particles. Weld joints' strengthhas beeneither nearly equal or higher than that of low strength base metal,whereas&#xD;
the weld failure has takenplace from the base metal region when at least one base metal was in O temper and from Stir Zone&#xD;
(SZ) when base metal was in T6 temper.
