    <title>Moisture transport behaviour of Eli-Twist knitted fabric and its comparison with fabric made from yarns spun on different spinning systems</title>

    <description>Title: Moisture transport behaviour of Eli-Twist knitted fabric and its comparison with fabric made from yarns spun on different spinning systems
Authors: Regar, Madan Lal; Sinha, S K; Chattopadhyay, R
Abstract: In this study, moisture management properties of knitted fabrics from Eli-Twist polyester and cotton yarns have been investigated. A comparative analysis with knitted fabrics from conventional ring-spun, siro-spun and compact yarns has also been made to assess its suitability. It is observed that polyester and cotton fabrics made from Eli-Twist yarn show very good permeability and moisture management characteristics.

    <title>Effect of plasma treatment on polyester knitted fabrics: Part II — Moisture management properties</title>

    <description>Title: Effect of plasma treatment on polyester knitted fabrics: Part II — Moisture management properties
Authors: Vidya, T; Prakash, C; Rajwin, A Jebastin; Babu, V Ramesh; Shah, B Anas; Reetuparna, R
Abstract: This study focuses on the moisture management properties of plasma-treated polyester knitted fabrics (spun, continuous&#xD;
filament, micro denier and hollow fibre). The effect of different loop lengths and the impact of oxygen plasma treatment on&#xD;
the moisture management properties of the fabric has also been studied. The moisture management properties are better for&#xD;
the plasma-treated fabric and also for the fabric having highest loop length. The moisture management properties of the&#xD;
fabric have been improved with the oxygen plasma treatment.

    <title>Effect of varying cycle time interval and aerosol pre-charge on filtration performance of polyester media</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61542</link>
    <description>Title: Effect of varying cycle time interval and aerosol pre-charge on filtration performance of polyester media
Authors: Dutta, Sudev; Mukhopadhyay, Arunangshu; Sharma, Akhil
Abstract: Present study embodies filtration characterization of two nonwoven needle-felt polyester filter materials, viz. PTFE&#xD;
coated and without coated media. The materials have been assessed using flyash aerosol under varying time intervals&#xD;
(6, 9 and 12 min) at different inlet dust densities (50, 90 and 150 g/m3). The flyash particles are charged prior to their&#xD;
deposition over the filter media using a three phase parallel plate box pre-charger at two different levels of pre-charge, viz.&#xD;
4 kV and 8 kV along with 0 kV. Results reveal that the filtration performance for PTFE coated material is better under all&#xD;
conditions. However, an enhanced filtration performance in terms of particle emission and pressure drop is noted at&#xD;
increased pre-charge level and higher cyclic interval. It may also be noted that the level of improvement in filtration&#xD;
behavior for both the materials has been better at initial level of pre-charge from 0 kV to 4 kV. However, the cumulative&#xD;
behavior of all the factors is also found significant.

    <title>Heat-setting parameters optimisation of cotton/elastane fabric using response surface methodology</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61540</link>
    <description>Title: Heat-setting parameters optimisation of cotton/elastane fabric using response surface methodology
Authors: Huzaisham, NurAthirah; Nasir, Siti Hana; Idris, Muhammad KhalisMohd; Rodriguez, Carolina Quintero
Abstract: The effect of heat-setting treatment on the performance of cotton/elastanefabric has been studied.Response surface&#xD;
methodology has been used to design the experiments where temperature (°C), time (s) and fabric width extension (%) are&#xD;
taken as factor variables. Fabric dimension (lengthwise and widthwise), fabric areal density and fabric tension decay are&#xD;
taken as response variables. The findings establish that the optimum heat-setting parameters are 190℃ temperature,&#xD;
75s process time and 13.5% width extension. It is necessary to optimise the heat-setting parameters to achieve better fabric&#xD;
dimensional stability, as overheating damages and deteriorates some of the elastane filaments, resulting in reduced recovery&#xD;
properties after a certain temperature point.
