    <title>Rethinking the Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Pharmaceutical Industry of Saudi Arabia</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61788</link>
    <description>Title: Rethinking the Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Pharmaceutical Industry of Saudi Arabia
Authors: Pawar, Puja Sunil; Alarifi, Ghadah
Abstract: This article attempts to analyze the role of pharmaceutical industry intellectual property rights and comparison of Saudi&#xD;
Arabia with other watch list and non-watch list countries according to the US trade representative Special 301 Report. Time&#xD;
series data (2001-2020) is used to compare and analyze the data using simple regression. Also, Covariance analysis and least&#xD;
square method are used to compare the data of other countries with Saudi Arabia. It was found that there is significant&#xD;
impact of the Saudi pharmaceutical industry on the GDP, and it has also developed its IPRs, patents, trademarks, and trade&#xD;
secrets. Macroeconomic outcomes are strongly tied to the enforcement of IP laws in both watch list and non-watch list&#xD;
countries. Therefore, it is important to underline the differences in IPR in these countries. This will help us to test whether&#xD;
empirical results at macro-level -that are alleged to be led by the stronger or weak IP laws – hold in the actual IP Law&#xD;
enforcements. In this paper, we investigate the differences and similarities in IP laws in these selected countries.

    <description>Title: Relationship between Human Rights and Copyright Law: Bibliometric Analysis
Authors: Modi, Rajatpreet; Vasmatkar, Abhijit; Nandekar, Ujwal Prabhakar
Abstract: Human rights are the paramount rights of the human race. Yet they are highly dynamic, much like the times we live in. With the change in human society, the regulations must change to suit the needs as well. This article analyses how Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights, specifically copyrights are integral to each other when read together. The primary issue is the collision between copyright and the human right of free speech. The article discusses in detail how copyrights form a human right and the need for them to be recognized as the same. The nuance of free speech and copyrights in the internet domain and the need to account for the publisher‟s independence and IPR rights has been discussed. The article attempts to understand the reasons for copyright violations while exercising the human right of free speech and the possible legal solutions to this problem. The purpose of the article is to dig out all the research in this respect and to make the concept clear for future researchers. This bibliometric analysis is implemented using the Scopus and Web of Science repositories.

    <title>Impact of Online Digital Piracy on the Indian Film Industry: An Empirical Investigation into Consumer Behaviour</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61786</link>
    <description>Title: Impact of Online Digital Piracy on the Indian Film Industry: An Empirical Investigation into Consumer Behaviour
Authors: Chawla, Gunjan; Buch, Nidhi
Abstract: In the present times, the Internet has become a threat to copyright content by facilitating sharing of information on a&#xD;
large-scale, and providing accessible alternatives to retrieve information goods including films &amp; music. The irony of&#xD;
sharing information over the internet is that ‘access-to-content’ is deemed synonymous with ‘control-of-content’. This&#xD;
phenomenon is defined as “Online Digital Piracy”. The Indian Film and Entertainment industry too is one such victim of&#xD;
piracy of its copyright in cinematographic works over the internet.&#xD;
This study attempts to understand the causes and impacts of Online Digital Piracy on the Indian Film Industry and the&#xD;
efficiency of the current legal regime in India governing the same. It takes a unique approach as the same is reflective of the&#xD;
inferences drawn from an empirical study of digital content consumers concerning the volumes of consumption of pirated&#xD;
film content. It deals with the conceptual and theoretical basis of online digital piracy with reference to the Indian Film&#xD;
Industry and critically evaluates the current legal regime in India under Copyright and Technology Laws to combat the&#xD;
adverse effects of piracy-related activities after corroborating the inferences drawn from an empirical study of consumer&#xD;
behaviour towards online digital piracy.

    <title>Framing Intellectual Property Rights in the Indian Print Media</title>
    <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61785</link>
    <description>Title: Framing Intellectual Property Rights in the Indian Print Media
Authors: Yadava, Prem Chand; Bhaduri, Saradindu
Abstract: To implement the ”National IP Policy 2016”, Indian Government launched an awareness campaign and initiated the&#xD;
process to introduce the IPR Policy Model for educational institutions at the pan-India level in 2019. In contexts of this, the&#xD;
study analyses the IPR news framing in selected national and vernacular newspapers during the “National IPR Policy 2016”&#xD;
making process and implementation of the policy. Not much scholarly attention has been devoted to the studies of media&#xD;
coverage of IPRs in Indian contexts. The study is based on the content analysis of the selected national and vernacular&#xD;
newspapers and discusses the media coverage frames with National IPR Policy 2016 objectives. The study finds that the&#xD;
regulatory frame is the most dominant frame in media coverage of IPR issues. However, media coverage does not look&#xD;
consistent with the National IPR Policy 2016 framework that focuses much on awareness and economic development. The&#xD;
primary application of this study is to assist policy makers, industries, and other stakeholders in understanding how their&#xD;
information on IPR could be presented to the public.
