Indirect polarographic determination of yttrium

Title: Indirect polarographic determination of yttrium
Authors: Sawant, Shilpa D; Chitre, Rayindra S; Sundaresan, R; Mathur, P K
Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:
" times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:="" en-in;mso-fareast-language:en-in;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="" lang="EN-IN">A polarographic
method of determining yttrium is described. The method is based on the changes
in the polarographic behaviour of the o-hydroxyazo
dye, Arsenazo- I, in presence of yttrium. It<span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial;mso-fareast-font-family:" times="" new="" roman";="" mso-ansi-language:en-in;mso-fareast-language:en-in;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="" lang="EN-IN"> <span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:" times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-in;mso-fareast-language:en-in;="" mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="" lang="EN-IN">is demonstrated that the method could be applied for determination
of yttrium in the superconducting oxide YBa2CU3Oy (y=6.5-7.0).

diorganodithiophosphates in 1:1 molar ratios in anhydrous benzene yield mixed

The redox behaviour of CuO-ZrO2 CeO2 Mixed oxides catalysts

Title: The redox behaviour of CuO-ZrO2 CeO2 Mixed oxides catalysts
Authors: Wang, En-Guo; Chen, Song-Ying
Abstract: The redox behavior or CuO-ZrO2 CeO2
mixed oxide catalysts has been studied. It is round that the composition of the
mixed oxides and thermal treatment could affect the reducibility of the samples,
and that reduced CuO-ZrO2 CeO2 mixed oxides are oxidized easily.
The experimental results also show that there is strong interaction between CuO
and CeO2 - ZrO2 mixed oxide, and that the interaction
promotes both the reduction of CuO and CeO2) in mixed oxides as well
as the catalytic activity for CO oxidation.

Correlation of distribution of organic solutes in organic solvent - water systems with molecular properties and solution structure parameters

Title: Correlation of distribution of organic solutes in organic solvent - water systems with molecular properties and solution structure parameters
Authors: Prezhdo, V V; Melnik, I I; Jagiello, M; Zubkova, V V; Prezhdo, M V; Bezak-Mazur, E
Abstract: A systematic analysis of experimental data on
extraction of organic solutes with organic solvents indicates that non-specific
intermolecular interactions are better described by pairwise interaction
potentials of London- Debye-Keesom than by the Hilderbrand solubility
parameter. The results point to significant and universal importance of
dispersive, inductive and dipole-dipole interactions between solute and solvent
molecules. Deviations in the experimental values for the distribution constants
from the corresponding theoretical values, calculated under the assumption that
the extracted substance and the extractant form no complexes, allow for estimation
of the energy of specific intermolecular interactions. A method, which permits
identification of the contributions of non-specific and specific intermolecular
interactions between extractant and extracted molecules to the distribution
constant, is suggested.
