Preparation of three-component conducting polymer composite using nucleate doping technique

Title: Preparation of three-component conducting polymer composite using nucleate doping technique
Authors: Srivastava, Niharika; Singh, Y; Singh, R A
Abstract: This paper reports a new route for the
preparation of conducting network in insulating polymer matrix. In existing
techniques solubility of conducting component is an essential condition.
Reported technique facilitates making composite of conducting polymer, which is
insoluble in normal solvents, with percolation threshold of 0.5 wt%. <span style="mso-ansi-language:EN-IN">Mechanism of formation of the three component
hybrid may be described as when silica <span style="mso-ansi-language:
EN-IN">which acted as seed is dispersed in insulating polymer, the in-situ
polymerized conducting polymer having high aspect ratio is grown over the
silica surface connecting each other and making a continuous network. The star like growth of the conducting polymer can be seen under
optical microscope.

Abstract: <span style="font-size:9.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt" lang="EN-US">The tensile, flexural, impact
and abrasion loss behaviors of Al2O3 impregnated coir
fiber-reinforced polyester composites are evaluated. The short untreated coir
fibers are used as reinforcements in polyester matrix. The effects of fiber length,

fiber diameter and filler content on the mechanical properties of
alumina-coir-polyester composites are studied by developed regression models in
this investigation. The optimum parameters for better mechanical properties are
determined using response surface methodology approach.

An experimental investigation of performance, combustion and emission characteristics of mahua (Madhuca Indica) oil methyl ester on four-stroke direct injection diesel engine

Title: An experimental investigation of performance, combustion and emission characteristics of mahua (Madhuca Indica) oil methyl ester on four-stroke direct injection diesel engine
Authors: Solaimuthu, C; Senthilkumar, D; Ramasamy, K K
Abstract: This paper is mainly concerned with an
experimental investigation to study the diesel engine performance, combustion
and emission characteristics using mahua (Madhuca Indica) biodiesel (mahua oil
methyl ester) and its blend in different volumetric proportions with diesel. To
start with, the thermo-physical properties of all the fuel blends are
evaluated. A four stroke tangentially vertical (TV) single cylinder direct
injection (DI) diesel engine with eddy current dynamometer is used for the
study under various load conditions. Combustion and
emission characteristics for different blends are evaluated in running the engine under steady state conditions. Neat
diesel is called B0 and neat (mahua oil methyl ester) biodiesel is called B100.
From the experiments, it is seen that B25 gives almost the same brake
thermal efficiency as B0 at full load condition, compared to other blends. The
blend B0 and B25 give the lowest specific fuel consumption of 0.56 and 0.27
kg/kW.h at no load and full load as compared to all other blends. At no load
B100 gives the lowest NOx emission which is 2.52% less compared to
B0.

A new lossless floating inductor simulator employing only two-terminal active devices

Title: A new lossless floating inductor simulator employing only two-terminal active devices
Authors: Alpaslan, Halil; Yuce, Erkan; Tokat, Sezai
Abstract: In this paper, a novel lossless floating inductor
simulator with four resistors, a grounded capacitor and five two-terminal
active components such as negative impedance converter, current follower and
voltage follower, is presented. The capacitor in the floating inductor
simulator is grounded, which provides suitability for integrated circuit
fabrication. However, it needs resistive matching conditions. The passive
inductor of a series R-L-C voltage-mode filter is replaced by the present
floating inductor simulator to give an application example. In order to show
performance, theoretical findings are supported via a number of SPICE
simulations and some experimental measurements.
