Title: Synthesis and characterization of new 1-organylsilatranes Authors: Verma, Shailesh C; Nasim, M Abstract: A series of 1-organyl- and 1-organyl-3,7,10-trimethylsilatranes, , where R¹ = H or CH₃ and R =CH₃CONH(CH₂)₃-, H₂NCONH(CH₂)₃-,C₆H₉O(CH₂)₂,C₃H₅N₂(CH₂)₃-, and C₃N₃O₃(CH₂)₃-, have been synthesized in high yields ranging from 82 to 95% by transetherification of the corresponding 1-organyltrialkoxysilanes with trialkanolamines i.e. triethanolamine and triisopropanolamine. These new silatranes have been well characterized by elemental analyses, IR, ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy. Page(s): 608-613
