      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/25138</link>
      <description>Title: Magnetic field simulation of the superconducting cyclotron
Authors: Rashid, M H; Bhandari, R K
Abstract: Theoretical calculations of the magnetic field&#xD;
due to coils, cylindrically symmetric iron part, 3-fold symmetric iron part and&#xD;
the trim coils of the cyclotron are reported. The field of the magnetic channels&#xD;
has been included also. The simulation of them magnetic shield for the stray magnetic&#xD;
field has been presented briefly. A method has been described to ascertain the&#xD;
&#xD;
position and magnitude of the coil misalignment.

      <title>Accelerator magnet design for high field quality</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/25137</link>
      <description>Title: Accelerator magnet design for high field quality
Authors: Sarma, P R
Abstract: Magnets&#xD;
of various types&#xD;
are required in accelerators and beam lines. Bending magnets, switching&#xD;
magnets, analyzing magnets, quadrupoles, sextupoles, Glasers, etc. are examples&#xD;
of accelerator magnets. In most of the accelerator applications, especially in high resolution beam lines and&#xD;
also in synchrotrons and storage rings the field quality of the magnets have to&#xD;
&#xD;
be very high. The field quality in room temperature&#xD;
iron magnets depends mainly on the shape of the pole. Various methods of determining&#xD;
the pole profile have been discussed.

      <title>Commissioning status of Indus-1 SR facility</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/25136</link>
      <description>Title: Commissioning status of Indus-1 SR facility
Authors: Singh, G; Angal-Kalinin, D; Bhawalkar, D D; Fakhri, A A; Ghodke, A D; Kant, Pradeep; Kumar, Pradeep; Nema, P K; Rao, A S Raja; Sahoo, G K; Singh, B
Abstract: The Indus-1 synchrotron radiation facility&#xD;
consists of a 450 MeV storage ring for the production of V UV radiation and an&#xD;
injector system, which has a 20 MeV microtron and a synchrotron. This facility has&#xD;
been successfully commissioned in 1999. In the synchrotron, a current of 11 mA has&#xD;
been achieved at 450 MeV. Two out of three bunches from the &amp;nbsp;synchrotron have been successfully extracted&#xD;
and injected into Indus-1 storage ring. Maximum current of 161 mA was accumulated&#xD;
in the Indus-1 storage ring. Beam dynamics studies carried out on these machines&#xD;
during the commissioning are described in this paper.

      <title>Modifications and developments done for the problems encountered in NSC pelletron</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/25135</link>
      <description>Title: Modifications and developments done for the problems encountered in NSC pelletron
Authors: Joshi, R; Patel, V; Barua, P; Sota, M; Gargari, S; Panwar, N S; Singh, B; Singh, M P; Kumar, R; Prasad, J; Chopra, S; Datta, S K; Kanjilal, D
Abstract: The control signals to control the function&#xD;
of devices, inside high voltage tank of NSC 15 UD accelerator, are carried by&#xD;
means or fibre optic cable. In one of the operations, the control on some of these&#xD;
devices was lost. The reason for this was the total damage of fibre optic cable.&#xD;
An indigenous fibre optic connector was developed and a patch was connected in place&#xD;
of damaged cable by using these indigenously developed connectors. Apart from&#xD;
this a new system, for absolute position read hack of foil stripper, is designed,&#xD;
fabricated and installed in the accelerator at NSC. Foil stripper at terminal is&#xD;
used to convert negative ion to positive ion and its stripping efficiency depends&#xD;
upon its health. There are 200 stripper foils in NSC 15 UD pelletron accelerator&#xD;
and it is important to know the condition or each stripper for the operation of&#xD;
accelerator. This position read back system helps to know the status of stripper.&#xD;
in use, accurately. Use of two turbo pumps modifies gas stripper system used in&#xD;
SC 15 UD accelerator. During test run it was observed that the operation of&#xD;
turbo pump controller, used for the operation, was not up to the mark. It broke&#xD;
down twice during the test run. The controller was then modified for its proper&#xD;
operation.
