Title: Research collaboration in the field of phytopathology - A bibliometric study
Authors: Maheswarappa, B S; Nagappa, B
Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:

the increase in the number of authors per paper and the degree of collaboration
(trend towards multiple authorship) in the Phytopathology literature over a
period of 50 years (1931-81). The frequency of single author papers decreases
from 77.9% in 1931 to 29.62% in 1981 and the frequency of multiple author
papers (two and more than two) increased from 22.1% in 1931 to 70.38% in 1981.
Over the same period the average number of authors per paper increased from
1.29 to 2.14. The degree of research collaboration has also increased from 0.22
to 0.70.</span>

time series study is attempted to identify the development of the library in
different periods. Variation in library budget and its allocation on different
elements are calculated to find out the adequacy of library finance. Per capita
expenditure of a, volume user and service are calculated to measure the adequacy
and efficiency of library services. An attempt is also made to estimate the
impact of the library services on the research output of the institution.</span>
