Title: 18-Bit binary inductive voltage divider for self balancing a.c. bridge applications
Authors: Murthy, C Nagaraja; Nataraj, V; Ramgopal, S; Lele, M V
Abstract: <span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:" arial","sans-serif";="" mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;="" mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The
constructional details of an 18-bit binary inductive voltage divider (IYD) for
a.c. bridge applications is described. Simplified construction with less number
of windings, interconnection of winding through SPDT solid state relays instead
of DPDT relays, improves reliability of IVD. High accuracy for most precision measurement
achieved without D/A converters. The checks for self consistency in voltage
division shows that the error is less than 2 counts in 218.

Authors: Kumar, Saroj; Roy, Narendra N
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:arial;mso-ansi-language:en-us;mso-fareast-language:="" en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">A number of bis-(aryl) thiuram disulphide and
bis-(aryl) xanthogens have been synthesized and tested as extreme pressure
additives using a Seta-Shell four ball lubricant testing machine. Bis-(o-tolyl) thiuram disulphide and bis-(p-sulphonyl) thiuram disulphide are
found to be efficient extreme pressure additives showing a higher welding load
and a lower scar diameter. Coefficient of friction has been calculated and its
variation with load in the case of different additives has been explained. A
mechanism for the action of bis-(o-tolyl)
thiuram disulphide and bis-(p-sulphonyl)
thiuram disulphide with higher weld loads has also been proposed.
