<description>Title: Alkaloids of Sida cordifolia L.
Authors: Sutradhar, Ranajit K; Matior Rahman, A K M; Ahmad, Mesbah U; Saha, Koushik
Abstract: Four new alkaloids, viz; 1,2,3,9-tetrahydro-pyrrolo [2,1-b] quinazolin-3-ylamine, 5′-hydroxymethyl-1′-(1,2,3,9-tetrahydro-pyrrolo [2,1-b] quinazolin-1-yl)-heptan-1-one, 2-(1′-amino-butyl) indol-3-one and 2′-(3H-indol-3-ylmethyl)-butan-1′-ol have been isolated from methanol extract of the aerial parts of Sida cordifolia L and characterized using ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, COSY, HMBC and mass spectra.

<title>KHSO₄-SiO₂-MeOH An efficient selective solid-supported system for deprotection of alcohols from esters</title>

<description>Title: KHSO₄-SiO₂-MeOH An efficient selective solid-supported system for deprotection of alcohols from esters
Authors: Goswami, Amrit; Das, Ram N; Borthakur, Naleen
Abstract: KHSO₄-SiO₂ can efficiently deprotect alcohols from esters through transesterification in methanol under mild condition. Esters of aromatic alcohols are easily transesterified at room temperature compared to the corresponding aliphatic or alicyclic alcohol. N-Acetyl compounds and ethers are resistant to the reagent under the above condition. The method is very useful for preparation of bio-diesel methyl ricinoleate from castor oil.

      <title>The electrosynthesis of pinacols</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/719</link>
      <description>Title: The electrosynthesis of pinacols
Authors: Jiang Bian, Yan-; Sheng Bai, Dong-
Abstract: Electrosynthesis of pinacols by iron as electrode in acid condi-tion is performed. The influence of electric potential and time on pinacol yield is explored. The optimal reaction conditions are at electric potential 4 V, time 60 min., methanol (6 mL), hydrochlo-ric acid (2 N, 2 mL), with the yield of pinacols up to 18-81%. The main advantages of the present procedure are milder reaction conditions and operational simplicity.

<description>Title: Gallium(III) halides catalyzed, microwave enhanced, synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-ones under solvent free condition
Authors: Saini, Anil; Kumar, Sanjay; Sandhu, Jagir S
Abstract: Gallium(III) halides catalyzed and microwave enhanced three component Biginelli reaction of aldehyde, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea or thiourea under solvent free conditions to afford 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-ones in excellent yields is described. The present procedure for the production of dihydropyrimidinones describes the first ever catalytic activity of gallium(III) halides. This improved procedure is fairly simple, facile and environment friendly.
