Chemical bond formation in crosslinking reaction between jute fibre and dimethyloldihydroxyethylene urea

Title: Chemical bond formation in crosslinking reaction between jute fibre and dimethyloldihydroxyethylene urea
Authors: Som, N C; Mukherjee, A K
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;

mso-fareast-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA">Jute fibre and fabric were
crosslinked with dirnethyloldihydroxyethylene urea (DMDHEU) using different
catalysts and the major components of jute fibre were isolated from the
crosslinked jute fibre. The major components of the untreated jute fibre were
also isolated and then crosslinked with DMDHEU. The nitrogen contents and
infrared spectra of the various fractions indicate the formation of covalent
bond between DMDHEU and jute fibre components, viz. holocellulose, ɑ-cellulose
and lignin, due to crosslinking reaction.</span>

Effect of thickener film structure on dye release during sublimation transfer printing of polyester

Title: Effect of thickener film structure on dye release during sublimation transfer printing of polyester
Authors: Chavan, R B; Jain, A K
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">An attempt has been made to
highlight the importance of the structure of the thickener film on dye release
during sublimation transfer printing of polyester. Indalca AGBV when used alone
as a printing thickener gave a continuous film in which the dye was embeded.
This film acted as a barrier to the release of dye from paper, resulting in low
dye transfer. The dye transfer, although low, was dependent on the dye particle
size and the thickness of the wet film deposits. The incorporation of a
suitable auxiliary in Indalca AGBV thickening disrupted the continuity of the
thickener film and enhanced dye transfer. The dye particle size and film
thickness of Indalca AGBV lost their significance in the presence of a suitable
auxiliary in the print paste.</span>

composition was applied onto a desized polyester/cotton blended fabric using
vertical padding mangle for a combined scouring and bleaching process. The
treatment time was varied from 9 to 68 s and the treatment temperature was varied
from 90 to 130°C. The process parameters were optimized using Box and Behnken's
response surface methodology.</span>

Title: Phenomenon of warp breakage in weaving
Authors: Hari, P K; Aggarwal, S K; Subramanian, T A
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The phenomenon of warp
breakage due to tensile-cum-abrasive failure of yarn is largely influenced by
the inter-fibre friction in yarn. Lea CSP has been found to be a reliable test
method for assessing the weavability of yarns.</span>
