Title: Effect of Processing Parameters on Incidence of Slubs in Polyester-Viscose Yarn and Fabric
Authors: Sharma, I C; Gupta, Narender; Gupta, Dinesh; Vaid, Kallash; Goyal, Surender Kumar
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";color:black;mso-ansi-language:="" en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The effect of blend
percentage, yarn count and different processing parameters, viz. spindle speed,

spacer size, on the incidence of slubs in polyester-viscose blend yarn and at
fabric stage (in weft direction) was studied. With increase in the polyester
content in the polyester-viscose blend the number of slubs decreased; increase
in spindle speed, break draft and finer count resulted in increase in the
number of slubs<span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";color:#1d1d1d;mso-ansi-language:="" en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">. <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";color:black;mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">Minimum number of slubs
occurred at a particular spinning draft and apron spacer size<span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";color:#1d1d1d;mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">; <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";="" mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" new="" roman";="" mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;="" mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";color:black;mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">and if these were increased
or decreased<span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:

Title: Antimony Compounds as Flame Retardants for Cotton Textiles
Authors: Jain, J P; Saxena, N K; Saxena, (Km) Abha; Gupta, D R
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">To render cotton fabrics
fire retardant, three chemical formulations, viz. solvent suspension, emulsion,
and titanium-antimony combinations containing some chlorinated compounds, were
studied. The treated fabrics were tested for fire performance, tensile strength
and effects of laundering. The results show that these treatments could be used
to reduce fire hazards in tents, pandals, etc; such treated fabrics may also be
useful for military purposes.</span>

Title: Effect of Weft Rewinding Tension on Fabric Properties
Authors: Sharma, I C; Bhardwaj, S K; Gupta, Narender Kumar; Sharma, Ayush
Abstract: <span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;
font-family:" calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:="" "times="" new="" roman";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;mso-hansi-theme-font:="" minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:en-us;="" mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The effect of different
weft rewinding tensions of texturized polyester filament yarns of 150 and 150/2
deniers on fabric properties, such as tearing strength, breaking strength and
dye uptake, has been studied. At both deniers there was no significant effect
on the tearing strength and tensile strength in weft direction. The elongation
at break decreased with increase in tension in both the cases. The dye uptake,
measured in terms of optical density, decreased initially with increase in
tension but with further increase in tension, increased in both the cases.</span>
