Title: Stress-Strain Characteristics of Canary-Coloured Chokla Wool Fibres in Air and Water Authors: Parthasarthy, S; Bapna, D L Abstract: The stress-strain characteristics of canary-coloured Chokla wool fibres (both medullated and non-medullated) were compared in air (65 ± 5% RH and 27± 2ᵒC) and in water (27 ± 2ᵒC). The regression of the characteristics on the tex value of the fibres was also studied. In water a greater number of characteristics depended on tex. The structure of non-medullated fibres seemed to differ from that of medullated ones. Page(s): 84-87

Title: Influence of Moisture Sorption on Mechanical Properties of Indian Wools Authors: Rao, D Rama Abstract: Torsional rigidity at low deformations and stress-strain relationships of Chokla and Rambouillet wools were determined at various humidities. The variation of stress with humidity differed in these two wools. Stress decreased with humidity and the rate of decrease was higher in Chokla fibres than in Rambouillet fibres. A comparison of the mechanical properties of these two wools showed that Chokla fibres could have a relatively high proportion of water-accessible sites and a differing microfibril composition. Title: Azoacid Dyes with 4-Quinazolinone Ring for Dyeing Nylon, Wool, Cotton and Viscose Rayon Fibres Authors: Desai, J A; Patel, M H; Patel, K K; Patel, (Miss) R G; Patel, V S Abstract: The dyeing properties of some 6-arylazo-2-methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone dyes on nylon and wool fibres as acid dyes and on cotton and viscose rayon fibres as direct dyes were assessed. The percentage dye-bath exhaustion on nylon and wool was good to excellent; on cotton and viscose rayon it was poor to moderate. A study of the fastness properties of dyed patterns showed that these were good to very good for nylon and wool, and fair to good for viscose rayon and cotton. Page(s): 71-74
