<title>Real time Aanderaa current meter data collection system</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/37867</link>
<description>Title: Real time Aanderaa current meter data collection system
Authors: Kumar, K Ashok; Diwan, S G
Abstract: Aanderaa current meters are widely used for recording the current speed and such other 4 parameters by deploying them over extended period of time. Normally data are recorded on magnetic tape and after recovery of current meters, data are read in laboratory. In this paper a method is described to read the real time current meter data and display/print/store on cartridge. For this, binary coded electrical signal available at the top end plate of the current meter is connected by underwater cable running from the Aanderaa current meter deployed near the offshore platform to microprocessor board EC-85 interfaced to HP-85B personal computer housed in the platform cabin.

<title>Toxicity of tributyltin to some bivalve species</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/37866</link>
<description>Title: Toxicity of tributyltin to some bivalve species
Authors: Karande, A A; Ganti, S S; Udhayakumar, M
Abstract: Tributyl tin oxide (TBTO) has been recognised as a serious health hazard. Edible green mussel Perna viridis was highly sensitive to TBTO (LC50/28 d = 0.28 mug.l-1). The oyster species Saccostrea cucullata on the other hand possessed good tolerance to TBTO (LC50/28 d = 10 mug.l-1). Fouling mussel Mytilopsis sallei has been found to show very high tolerance to TBTO (LC50/28 d = 13 mug.l-1). It was also observed that the amount of TBTO determined as inorganic tin, bioaccumulated by P. viridis and S. cucullata were inversely proportional to the concentrations of TBTO to which they were exposed.

<description>Title: Maturation of the penaeid prawn Metapenaeus moyebi in Mandovi estuary, Goa
Authors: Nair, S R Sreekumaran; Achuthankutty, C T; Parulekar, A H
Abstract: Metapenaeus moyebi contributed a good share of penaeid prawn population in the Mandovi estuary of Goa throughout the year. Both males and females of this species with fully mature gonads were observed in the estuary, suggesting possible spawning in the estuary.

<title>Growth, conversion efficiency and moulting of prawn Macrobrachium idella fed on feeds containing plant matter</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/37862</link>
<description>Title: Growth, conversion efficiency and moulting of prawn Macrobrachium idella fed on feeds containing plant matter
Authors: Jayalakshmy, B; Natarajan, P
Abstract: Four different pelleted feeds prepared using different plant matter viz. Padina, Elodea, Lemna and Bruguiera have been tried for their growth, conversion efficiency and moulting in M. idella. Of the four plants, Elodea proved best to be incorporated in prawn diets. The study revealed that M. idella requires a more proteinaceous and animal matter supplemented diet rather than an exclusive plan diet.
