<title>An Investigation on the Use of MSER and SIFT for Image Forgery Detection</title>

<description>Title: An Investigation on the Use of MSER and SIFT for Image Forgery Detection
Authors: Sekhar, R; Shaji, R S
Abstract: Digital Image Forgery is a worn-out term nowadays because the imaging tools and software available are much sophisticated that even a naive user can make alterations with images. Among the different types of image forgery, copy-move forgery is the stereotyped one as it is very easy to copy a region in an image and paste the region in the same image, mostly after some form of transformations applied on the region. Various methods which are classified as block-based and key-point based have been proposed for detecting copy-move forgeries with different amount of correctness and efficiency. In this paper we propose a novel key-point based approach using Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSER) feature detector and Scale Invariant Feature Descriptor (SIFT) for copy-move forgery detection. For more accurate localization of forged regions we propose the use of Particle Swarm Optimization based clustering as the final step. Results prove that the proposed method can detect more types of forgeries efficiently than any other method.

<title>An Adaptive Optimized Frequent Itemset Mining in Large Databases by means of FPL and Adaptive Artificial Bee Colony (AABC) Algorithm</title>

<description>Title: An Adaptive Optimized Frequent Itemset Mining in Large Databases by means of FPL and Adaptive Artificial Bee Colony (AABC) Algorithm
Authors: Babu, C S; Kumari, V V
Abstract: The most basic and important task of data mining is the mining of frequent itemsets, which are sets of items frequently purchased together in a transaction. Many research works were developed in the area of frequent itemset mining with different mining algorithms. But these existing techniques performance lacks when accessing the large database. To reduce the drawbacks presents in the existing methods a new optimized frequent pattern mining algorithm is proposed to mine frequent patterns from the large database. In our proposed frequent mining technique, the input database is portioned by FPL (Frequent Pattern List). By exploiting the FPL sub databases the frequent itemsets are mined by Adaptive Artificial Bee Colony (AABC) algorithm. Thus, the proposed technique successfully mines the frequent itemsets via FPL and AABC techniques. The proposed technique will be compared with the existing frequent itemsets mining techniques and AABC performance is compared with the conventional ABC in terms of benchmark functions.

<title>A Two-Machine Flowshop Scheduling Problem with a Job Precedence Constraint to Minimize the Total Completion Time</title>

<description>Title: A Two-Machine Flowshop Scheduling Problem with a Job Precedence Constraint to Minimize the Total Completion Time
Authors: Xu, Jianyou; Lin, Win-Chin; Yin, Yunqiang; Cheng, Yu; Wu, Chin-Chia
Abstract: In this study we address a two-machine flowshop scheduling problem with a job constraint. The objective function is to find a sequence to minimize the total completion time, which means that a schedule’s cost, is directly related to the average time it takes to process a single job. Due to the higher complexity of proposed problem, we use a branch-and-bound method incorporating with several dominance rules and lower bounds for finding an optimal solution. We then propose a simulated annealing and a largest order value method for finding a near-optimal solution. In addition, we test the performances of all the proposed algorithms for the small and big numbers of jobs.

<title>Design of an Instrument to Measure the Performance of ISO 9001 Based Quality Management Systems in Knowledge Based Organizations</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/43199</link>
<description>Title: Design of an Instrument to Measure the Performance of ISO 9001 Based Quality Management Systems in Knowledge Based Organizations
Authors: Kansal, J; Singhal, S; Khurana, A
Abstract: Post liberalization policies of the Indian Government have given a real challenge to the Indian scientists to live with the paradigm of strict time schedules, improved quality and reduced costs. Scientists are now expected to reduce lead times of design, development and deliver the required product in conformance to the Users' requirements. Indian Government Knowledge based organizations have therefore implemented quality management systems and most of them have obtained formal ISO 9001 certification. However the impact of implementation of QMS on the organizational as well as individual performance has not been measured. A need is therefore felt to develop an instrument and identify the performance parameters impacted by the implementation of quality management system. In this research a Questionnaire for ISO Impact Analysis was specifically designed for KBOs and study of 34 units of ISO 9001 certified R&amp;D organizations was taken with a focus on determining the impact of implementation of ISO 9001 quality management system on the performance. Responses of ISO 9001 certified units of Questionnaire dealing with various markers of Impact Analysis were subjected to principal component factor analysis with Varimax rotation and Eigen value as criteria.
