Title: Incomplete momentum transfer in 16O + 148Nd system [at energy ≈ 5.8 MeV/nucleon]

Abstract: Measurements of the forward recoil ranges of the evaporation residues 159,158Er (xn), 160g,159Ho (pxn), 157,155Dy (αxn) and 155Tb (αpxn) formed in the interaction of 16O with 148Nd at energy ≈ 5.8 MeV/nucleon have been done. Measured forward recoil range distributions of these evaporation residues show population of several incomplete fusion channels in addition to complete fusion. The entire and incomplete linear momentum transfers inferred from these recoil range distributions have been used to identify the evaporation residues populated through complete and incomplete fusion dynamics. The forward recoil range distributions of evaporation residues populated via α-emission channels show two composite peaks, one associated with complete fusion and other peak corresponds to the incomplete fusion. Further, the relative contributions of CF and/or ICF components have also been separated out from the present measurements. The contribution of ICF channels has been found to be ≈ 9 % of total fusion. The present results clearly indicate the presence of break-up of the projectile 16O into 12C + <em>α</em> at low projectile energy.

Heavy-ion fusion described by above barrier resonances

Title: Heavy-ion fusion described by above barrier resonances
Authors: Singh, Smitashree; Agarwalla, S K
Abstract: An analytically solvable, smooth, realistic and composite barrier potential with parameter controlling the flatness at the top, the range and the asymmetry of the barrier is constructed from the generalized symmetry woods-saxon potential. The transmission co-efficient (T) across the barrier is found to be oscillatory in the above-barrier region of energy representing above-barrier resonance (ABR). Using this T with proper angular momentum dependence in one dimension, we estimate the results of fusion cross section (&sigma;f) in the cases of few best studied examples namely 16O + 144Sm, 16O + 208Pb and 16O + 186W systems. We find good explanations of experimental data for various systems. The problem of sub-barrier enhancement of &sigma;f is addressed with the help of asymmetry in the composite barrier. The generation of ABRs is due to flatness in the composite barrier.

Evaluation of neutron capture cross sections on 60Fe

Title: Evaluation of neutron capture cross sections on 60Fe
Authors: Satheesh, B; Lalremruata, B; Sankaracharyulu, M G V
Abstract: The production of 60Fe in the slow neutron capture process (s-process) has been discussed in this paper and the reaction cross sections have been evaluated using different nuclear reactions models and tabulated. The energy of proton energy of neutron energy spectrum code (EPEN) has been used to calculate the neutron energy spectrum and tabulated. Model code dependence of the prediction has also been discussed.

Structural analysis of Z=125 nuclei

Title: Structural analysis of Z=125 nuclei
Authors: Rahaman, Usuf; Ikram, M
Abstract: In this manuscript, we analyze the structural properties of neutron rich isotopes of Z = 125 super heavy nuclei in the mass range of 290 &le; A &le; 340 within the framework of axially deformed relativistic mean field theory (RMF) and calculate the total binding energy, radii and quadrupole deformation parameter. Further, we extract one and two neutron separation energies for the considered isotopic chain. The density distribution has been also investigated for some fission survival nuclides, i.e., 310-320125 found in the studies of literature. We compare our results with the estimations made by finite range droplet model (FRDM) and a close agreement has been found.
