Title: Novel dual peptisers and curing agents derived from PET waste as N-alkyl benzene dicarboxamides for EDPM waste
Authors: Chauhan, Mohit; Teotia, Meenu; Soni, R K
Abstract: Ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) is widely used in the manufacturing of various components in rubber industries and hence recycling of scrap rubber is a major problem. In the present study, EPDM rubber waste powder has been recycled successfully by using N-alkyl benzene dicarboxamides, derived from PET wasteand other additives. Three aminolysed end products namely 1,4-benzene dicarboxamide, 1,4-benzene dicarbohydrazide and N,N′‐diaminoethyl 1,4‐benzene dicarboxamidewere used as peptisers and curing agents in the EPDM waste formulations. EPDM rubber waste sheets have been prepared at comparatively low temperature using two roll mill and compression moulding machine. Tensile strength, % elongation and hardness have been found in the range 12.23-20.19 kg/cm2, 107-145 % and 46-61, respectively. It has been expected that the developed reclaimed process described in this paper will promisingly support the protection of environment and conservation of resources with favors to rubber waste generated throughout the world.

Analysis of RCC curved box girder bridges

Title: Analysis of RCC curved box girder bridges
Authors: Gupta, Nidhi; Agarwal, Preeti; Pal, Priyaranjan
Abstract: Analysis of RCC box girder bridge is carried out for three different box girder sections, i.e. single, double and triple cells using finite element technique by linear static method of analysis. Bridge models are studied with the variation of degree of curvature, which is varied from 0° to 60° at an interval of 6°. Load cases considered are dead load and live load conforming to Indian Road Congress (IRC). The variation of bending moment, torsional moment, shear force and deflection is studied which are found to be increased with curvature. It has been estimated that the increased deflection in single, double and triple cell box girder bridges is about 295%, 280% and 245%, respectively, in between 0°(straight) and 60° curved bridges. This study states that the design of curved bridges is not a simple task which needs to be performed with utmost care.

Title: Study of spectral and NLO properties of (2E)-1-(2, 4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3- (4-hydroxyphenyl) prop-2-en-1-one by DFT
Authors: Gupta, Raksha
Abstract: Theoretical calculations of (2E)-1-(2, 4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) prop-2-en-1-one have been performed using Gaussian 09 software package. The geometry optimization and vibrational frequency determinations of the molecule have been developed using DFT/B3LYP/6-31G (d, p). Substituents at aliphatic double bond are Trans to each other. The standard thermodynamic functions: heat capacity (CV), entropy (S), and enthalpy (E) were obtained at B3LYP/6-31G (d, p) level. DFT has been used to calculate the total dipole moment (μ), the mean linear polarizability (α), the anisotropic polarizability (∆α), the first-order hyperpolarizability (β) and the second-order hyperpolarizability (𝛾) in terms of x, y, z components. Simultaneously UV-Vis absorption spectra, electronic transitions, vertical excitation energies and oscillator strengths of the same molecule were computed with the Time Dependent DFT (TD-DFT) method using the same basis sets. FMO, ESP study were also carried out using the same basis set.

Title: Socio-metrics of digital payments in demographic dividend: Descriptive analysis of dichotomous preferences
Authors: Singh, Pranay Kumar; Dutta, Avijan
Abstract: Innovation in financial services has attracted a lot of attention and becomes the focal point in some jurisdiction further taking a very effective approach for facilitation of the technology enabled innovation. Digital disruptions have affected the all aspect of social mechanism and economic function, with higher density of mobile consumers and internet penetrations as compared to banking and other financial services facilitation. Technical firms have been providing new integrated faster, effective and inclusive innovative solutions; and it accelerates the inclusive digital payment systems. The variant methods of digital payments adopted by urban and semi urban consumers for their usual financial transactions is growing exponentially; however, post demonetization by Government of India, there was urgent need for alternative payment mechanism not only for urban consumers but also support the utilization by rural consumers in demographic dividend. The concept for the study has been to explore strategic advantages of digital payments and diagnosis for the current ecosystem in the support for better adoption of digital payments by the retail consumers in given mixed demography. In the present study, we have approached the Dhanbad district and collected data from different demography for our pilot survey. We have analyzed structured questionnaire based data to understand the various challenged with digital payments in demographic dividend for study area getting dichotomous preferences.
