      <description>Title: Characteristics of input to represent the valid values for mandatory authority parameters: A case study on library systems
Authors: Ketheeswaren, Sivapackiyanathan
Abstract: The operations of library management depend on a set of library-specific parameters defined in a library system. The&#xD;
library-specific parameters are represented by data. One of the functions of a library system is storing data in the database&#xD;
for library management and services. The stored data should be valid for successful library management. The paper&#xD;
identifies the characteristics of input and the library parameters that were used in databases. The characteristics of input and&#xD;
the validity of the corresponding data stored in databases for mandatory library parameters were analysed. The study finds&#xD;
the system design and management required to store the valid data for the mandatory library parameter.

      <title>LibQUAL+® based importance-performance matrix analysis for assessing library service quality: A case study</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61268</link>
      <description>Title: LibQUAL+® based importance-performance matrix analysis for assessing library service quality: A case study
Authors: Kamath, Giridhar; Mallya, Jyothi; Kamath, Vasanth; Payini, Valsaraj
Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to measure the strengths and weaknesses of library services using Importance-&#xD;
Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA). It also intends to identify the critical areas of the library within the three dimensions&#xD;
of LibQUAL+® based on student feedback. Data were collected from students at a private engineering institute in India,&#xD;
using a structured questionnaire to achieve these objectives. Respondents rated the importance and performance of library&#xD;
services on the three dimensions of LibQUAL+®: affect of service (AOS), information control (IC), and library as a place&#xD;
(LP) on a 7-point Likert scale. Analysis was carried out using IPMA to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the library&#xD;
services. The findings suggest that LP was the most essential and well-performing dimension in the library context. IC is the&#xD;
most important, but poorly performing dimension. Therefore, strategies are recommended to ensure the effectiveness of the&#xD;
service. The findings of this study would help library administrators, and policymakers formulate appropriate fund&#xD;
allocation/reallocation based on user requirements. The integration of IPMA and LibQUAL+® in measuring library service&#xD;
quality is a significant contribution of this study to LibQUAL+® literature.

      <title>Users’ perceptions about e-resources and information services in a public library: a study of Kerala State Central Library</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61267</link>
      <description>Title: Users’ perceptions about e-resources and information services in a public library: a study of Kerala State Central Library
Authors: Barath, P. Suman; Sudhier, K.G.
Abstract: A questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain user feedback on various aspects of resources and information services&#xD;
provided by the Kerala State Central Library (KSCL), Thiruvananthapuram. The findings revealed that 43.2% of the&#xD;
respondents were aware of the reading circle and book display services available in the library. The study also found that&#xD;
only a few users (9.1%) are highly-satisfied with the e-resources provided by the library. The users are aware about the quiz&#xD;
programs (40.9%) conducted by the library. The study found that the primary barriers for library users are the lack of&#xD;
computers and internet services. About 34.1% of the respondents adhered to the hygiene guidelines provided by the library&#xD;
during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study suggests that the library should conduct conferences, workshops, and training&#xD;
programs for its users to enable them to use e-resources and ICT services effectively and efficiently.

      <title>Sustainable development initiatives in libraries: A critical analysis</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/61266</link>
      <description>Title: Sustainable development initiatives in libraries: A critical analysis
Authors: Manna, Debabrata; Sarkar, Tanmay De
Abstract: The purpose of the present study is to give an overview of the sustainable development (SD) initiatives observed among the selected libraries around the world. The present study employed a web-based content analysis method among the selected academic and public libraries to investigate the adherence of features of the green library. Based on the survey of library websites and reviewing related literature, the study identified the parameters contributing to the sustainable development intent of the library. With examples, this study also showcases the current practices followed by the libraries to implement green library strategy. Moreover, the challenges faced by the libraries in their effort to go green was also identified and discussed. The overview of SD initiatives among different libraries as displayed in the study will improve the understanding of the adoption of green indicators by the librarians and information science professionals.
