      <description>Title: Tetraphosphonic acid functionalized perylenediimide derivative: Synthesis and pH dependent photophysical properties
Authors: Goskulwad, Santosh P; Bhosale, Sheshanath V; Bhosale, Sidhanath V
Abstract: The synthesis of phosphonic acid functionalized perylene diimide (PDI) molecular architecture has been demonstrated&#xD;
via functionalization at imide position. UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence emission spectroscopic techniques have been&#xD;
employed to investigate the photophysical properties of the novel PDI derivative at different pH (2 to 11). These results&#xD;
demonstrate the fascinating photophysical characteristics based on change in pH from 7 to 2 and 7 to 11 in aqueous medium.

      <description>Title: Tin (IV) chloride catalysed synthesis of di(indolyl)methanes during electrophilic substitution of indoles and 2-methyl indoles
Authors: Nayak, Anupam; Banerji, Avijit; Banerji, Julie
Abstract: An efficient methodology has been developed for the synthesis of di(indolyl)methanes in moderate to good yields during&#xD;
the study of the reactions of indole and 2-methyl indole using a series of aliphatic ketones in the presence of stannic&#xD;
chloride. It appears worth mentioning that with 2-methyl indole and acetone and ethyl methyl ketone the highly “elusive”&#xD;
indolylcarbinols, the postulated intermediates in the synthesis of di(indolyl)methanes, have been isolated.

      <title>Synthesis, characterization and antioxidant activities of novel N-substituted pyrazoline derivatives bearing 3-benzo[b]thiophene and 5-styryl substituents</title>

      <description>Title: Synthesis, characterization and antioxidant activities of novel N-substituted pyrazoline derivatives bearing 3-benzo[b]thiophene and 5-styryl substituents
Authors: Krishnan, Radhakrishnan; Pandy, Karthik Manikandan; Paratharaj, Senthil Kumar; Ray, Uttam Kumar
Abstract: The new series of N-substituted pyrazoline derivatives bearing benzo[b]thiophene and styryl with trifluoromethyl&#xD;
substitution at para- and meta- positions were synthesized. The structures of newly synthesized compounds were&#xD;
characterized by UV, IR, NMR, Mass and single crystal XRD (SCXRD) and had been screened for antioxidant activity. The&#xD;
in vitro antioxidant activities screening revealed that hydroxyl radical scavenging (HRS) activities of compounds 3c, 3f, 4a,&#xD;
4e, 4f, 5c, 5d 5e and 5g are stronger than the other compounds and the compound 5g shows much better antioxidant activity.

      <description>Title: Simple approach for the synthesis of a 1,1'-(ethane-1,2 diylbis(azanediyl))bis(pentan-2-ol): 13C/1H NMR spectroscopy and electrical characterizations
Authors: Wechteti, Lassaad; Souemti, Ahmed; Selmi, Aymen; Romdhani-Younes, Moufida
Abstract: 1,1'-(Ethane-1,2-diylbis(azanediyl))bis(pentan-2-ol) a β-aminoalcohol material denoted as 2a has been successfully synthesized. A white highly pure transparent material has been obtained after purification by chromatography techniques. Infrared spectroscopy has been used to identify the −NH and −OH functional groups. 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy has confirmed the proposed structure. Complex Impedance Spectroscopy indicates an insulator behavior of the studied materials in the 313-393°C temperature range. Conductivity within this material is in intragrain contribution and its activation energy is about 1.3 eV. The physical properties of the studied material allow to consider β-amino alcohols as versatile intermediates for many organic compounds in the making of natural and synthetic originated biologically active compounds. They are widely used as β-blockers, insecticidal agents, and chiral auxiliaries.
