      <description>Title: Novel high yielding route for the synthesis of Melphalan dimer impurity G
Authors: Rane, R A; Male, R D; Babhulkar, G V; Suryawanshi, M R; Kumar, Dileep; Chindhe, S; Pawar, D; Moharir, S R; Patil, R K
Abstract: Melphalan dimer is an impurity from the synthesis of Melphalan (M216900) which is an antineoplastic agent. In this&#xD;
article, a new route for the synthesis of Melphalan dimer impurity G has been discussed. The new research provides the first&#xD;
high-yield, high-purity synthesis of this impurity. The impurity has been confirmed for purity using HPLC, and its structure&#xD;
has been identified using MS, ¹H and ¹³C NMR.

      <description>Title: Design, synthesis and antimicrobial evaluation of benzimidazole containing 4-thiazolidinone based 5-arylidene derivatives
Authors: N C, Desaia; Shah, K N; Dave, B P
Abstract: In an attempt to design a potent class of antimicrobials, we have synthesized benzimidazole derivatives based on 4-thiazolidinone which possessed 5-arylidenes 5a-o by using different catalysts under multistep conventional synthesis.Structures of the synthesized compounds have been established based on spectral data and compounds have been screenedfor their antimicrobial activity. Compound 5j shows maximum potency against all Gram-positive bacteria with a minimuminhibitory concentration (MIC) in the range of 25-50 μg/mL while moderate activity against Gram-negative bacterial strainsis observed with a MIC value of 62.50 μg/mL. Compound 5n is found to be the most active against fungal strains with aMIC value of 250 μg/mL.

Authors: Utsukihara, Takamitsu; Hoshiyama, Kazuhito; Kobayashi, Shoma; Koshimura, Masahiro; Horiuchi, C Akira
Abstract: Biotransformation of testosterone 1 and stanolone 2 has been investigated with fungus of Lignincola laevis.&#xD;
Biotransformaton of 1 gives 15α,17β-dihydroxyandrost-4-en-3-one 3. In the case of 2, two products, 5α-androstan-3α,17&#xD;
β-diol 4 and 5α-androstane-3, 17-dione 5 have been obtained.

      <description>Title: Biopotential insights and structural chemistry of some zirconocene incorporated heterocyclic β-diketones and flexible N-protected α/β- amino acids
Authors: Sharma, Kanika; Soni, Komal; Saxena, Sanjiv; Jain, Asha
Abstract: The interaction of zirconocene dichloride with the heterocyclic β-diketones (LH) and flexible N-protected α/ β-amino&#xD;
acids (AH) in the presence of triethylamine in 1:1:1:2 molar ratio in refluxing dry THF has been resulted in the formation of&#xD;
zirconocene complexes of the general formula [ZrCp2(RCOC:C(O)N(C6H5)N:CCH3)(O2CCHR'NC(O)C6H4C(O))](where R= -&#xD;
CH3, -CH2CH3, p-ClC6H4-, -C6H5 and CHR’ = -CH2CH2and R’ = CH(CH3)2). These newly generated zirconocene&#xD;
incorporated organic-inorganic hybrid products have been characterized by FTIR, NMR (1H and 13C) and mass&#xD;
spectrometry. Some of these complexes and their corresponding ligands have been tested for their antimicrobial activity to&#xD;
examine the biopotential activity-structure relationship.
