      <description>Title: Science and Technology-based Video Content Regulation on OTT Platforms
Authors: TRIPATHI, KAPIL KUMAR; KUMAR, PAMPOSH; MAHESH, G
Abstract: India is a diverse country with different religions, castes, cultures,&#xD;
languages, levels of knowledge, and economic conditions, and&#xD;
it is highly dependent on the media for getting first-hand information.&#xD;
Earlier, it was newspapers and television; now, with the&#xD;
advancements in mobile and internet technologies, the smart phone&#xD;
has become a first-hand source for content dissemination. With the&#xD;
evolution of newer technology and processes that are leveraged by the&#xD;
media ecosystem, the government is liberal enough to help it breathe&#xD;
and grow in an open playground. Once it achieves a considerable&#xD;
level of traction and reach starts impacting social practices and&#xD;
influences socio-political realities, the government acts as a guardian&#xD;
and brings in new regulations, laws, and policies, which help balance&#xD;
freedom of speech, citizens' rights to privacy, etc., so that everyone&#xD;
can get true, unbiased information on any issues and subjects; in a&#xD;
very decent manner without harming the sentiments of others.&#xD;
The content regulation journey in India from the Indian&#xD;
Cinematograph Act 1918 for films to the Information Technology&#xD;
(Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code)&#xD;
Amendment Rules, 2023 and proposed Digital India Act 2023, for all&#xD;
online content, including Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, has been&#xD;
very interesting. The paper highlights the need to impart selfregulation&#xD;
in science communication strategies in the changing media&#xD;
land scape. It also suggests self-regulatory guidelines for both —&#xD;
those who produce science and technology-based video content and&#xD;
run OTT platforms, within the scope of the new regulations to issues&#xD;
like- fake, misinformation, myths and superstitions, rumours, grievance, copyright, content sharing, credits, particularly in&#xD;
dissemination Science and Technology related content in India.

      <title>The Effectiveness of a Program to Improve Environmental Hygiene among Selected Households</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/64099</link>
      <description>Title: The Effectiveness of a Program to Improve Environmental Hygiene among Selected Households
Authors: VIDHYA, J; MANIMOZHI, K
Abstract: Ensuring personal hygiene and sanitation facilities are crucial&#xD;
priorities for both rural and urban populations, yet improvements&#xD;
are needed to foster the growth of each family. Achieving this goal&#xD;
necessitates the active involvement of women in rural communities.&#xD;
However, there exists a gap in assessing hygienic literacy, practices,&#xD;
and the efficacy of implementing hygienic environments in rural&#xD;
areas. This study aimed to evaluate the awareness, attitude, and&#xD;
practices concerning environmental hygiene to advance public&#xD;
health and protection. Through the interview cum observation&#xD;
method, 500 families in selected rural areas were assessed to gauge&#xD;
the effectiveness of environmental hygiene. A five-day intensive&#xD;
environmental hygiene program was conducted with selected&#xD;
participants. Various parameters, including demographic profiles&#xD;
and the relationship between hygienic knowledge, attitudes, and&#xD;
practices before and after the education program, were evaluated.&#xD;
The study revealed deficiencies in environmental sanitary practices&#xD;
among rural populations. Furthermore, awareness emerged as&#xD;
the most influential factor, exhibiting a significant and positive&#xD;
correlation with environmental hygiene. Thus, there is an urgent&#xD;
need for awareness programs and educational services to promote&#xD;
proper sanitation practices and foster a hygienic environment in&#xD;
rural areas.
