      <description>Title: Synthesis, spectral, molecular docking and antimicrobial studies of some substituted 4-([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl) pyrimidine-2(1H)-thiones
Authors: Venkatraman, R; Divya, J; Gayathri, P; Muthuvel, I; Thirunarayanan, G
Abstract: Some substituted 4-([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)pyrimidine-2(1H)-thione derivatives were synthesized by one-pot three-component synthesis reaction of 4-acetyl biphenyl, various substituted aryl aldehydes and thiourea in the presence of sodium hydroxide. In this reaction, the yield was more than 85%. The synthesized pyrimidine thiones were characterise by their physical constants, micro-analysis and spectroscopic data. The molecular docking study of these pyrimidinethiones was investigated with protein interaction-affinity measurements. Using the Bauer-Kirby technique, the antimicrobial abilities of synthesized pyrimidinethiones were evaluated.

      <title>Effect of temperature and solvents on thermo-physical properties of pyrimidine substituted thiazolidinone derivatives at three different temperatures</title>

      <description>Title: Effect of temperature and solvents on thermo-physical properties of pyrimidine substituted thiazolidinone derivatives at three different temperatures
Authors: Mehta, Umang P; Godhani, Dinesh R; Saiyad, Anwar H; Parmar, Kuldip P; Mehta, Jignasu P
Abstract: Ultrasonic velocities, densities, and viscosities have been determined in a binary liquid tandem including pyrimidine&#xD;
substituted thiazolidinone at temperatures T= (298.15, 308.15, and 313.15 K) over the thiazolidinone's complete&#xD;
molality range. 5-(4-fluorobenzylidene)-2-(furan-2-yl)-3-(pyrimidin-2-yl)thiazolidin-4-one (AZ1) and 2-(furan-2-yl)-5-(4-&#xD;
methylbenzylidene)-3-(pyrimidin-2-yl)thiazolidin-4-one (AZ2) in N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide&#xD;
(DMSO) were studied. Further to various acoustical and thermodynamic parameters, measurements have been made of the&#xD;
density, viscosity, and ultrasonic sound velocity. Further study has been conducted to figure out the effects of solvent&#xD;
alterations and structural modifications on the values of Gibbs energy of activation (ΔG*), enthalpy of activation (ΔH*), and&#xD;
entropy of activation (ΔS*). These results have been explained in terms of the molecular interactions among the constituents&#xD;
of the liquid mixture.

      <title>Impact of CPC micellar medium on Ru(III) promoted oxidation of L-Valine by diperiodatocuprate(III)</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/65894</link>
      <description>Title: Impact of CPC micellar medium on Ru(III) promoted oxidation of L-Valine by diperiodatocuprate(III)
Authors: Srivastava, Abhishek; Srivastava, Neetu; Singh, Ruchi
Abstract: The objective of the proposed investigation is to examine the influence of cationic surfactant on the Ru(III) facilitated LValine&#xD;
oxidation using diperiodatocuprate(III) (DPC) in an alkaline medium. The oxidation rate was ascertained by&#xD;
measuring the decrease in absorbance at a wavelength of 415 nm, an indicator of the Cu(III) concentration. The reaction's&#xD;
advancement was assessed employing the pseudo-first-order condition as a gauge for [OH–], [DPC], ionic strength, [LValine],&#xD;
[Ru(III)], [IO4&#xD;
–], [Surfactant], and temperature. L-Valine and DPC interact stoichiometrically in a ratio of 1:4.&#xD;
Across the spectrum of concentrations examined, the reported reaction reflects less than unit order kinematics in relation to&#xD;
both [L-Valine], and [OH–], first-order reliance on the [DPC] and [Ru(III)], and negative fractional-order for [IO4&#xD;
–]. A zero&#xD;
salt effect is suggested by the observed constancy in oxidation rate with the inclusion of electrolytes. The oxidation rate is&#xD;
significantly enhanced by Ru(III) solution (as a catalyst) at ppm concentration. Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) micellar&#xD;
media facilitates an additional enhancement in the rate of the desired reaction. CPC thus exhibits an excellent compatibility&#xD;
with Ru(III) for the L-Valine oxidation using (DPC).

      <title>Synthesis, characterization and biological activity of metal complexes and their Schiff base ligands</title>
      <link>http://nopr.niscpr.res.in/handle/123456789/65893</link>
      <description>Title: Synthesis, characterization and biological activity of metal complexes and their Schiff base ligands
Authors: Charitha, K Ramya; Kavitha, P
Abstract: Schiff base ligands have been chemically synthesized from 6-aminopyrimidine-4-thiol and 4-formyl-2-hydroxybenzonitrile&#xD;
in a 2:1 stoichiometric ratio (2L:M) along with their corresponding Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes. Thermo gravimetric analysis,&#xD;
1H and 13C NMR, FT-IR, UV-Visible and MS spectroscopic techniques have been used to analyze the structures of all the&#xD;
synthesized substances. Additionally, the antibacterial activity of the ligands (L) and their metal complexes has been examined&#xD;
in vitro against several pathogens. Comparing the activity to the MIC and zone of inhibition allows for a quantitative and&#xD;
qualitative evaluation. Research has shown that metal (II) complexes are more effective than ciprofloxacin against selected&#xD;
microbes.
