Abstract: | A new and previously unreported molecular
framework of 1,3,4-oxadiazoles incorporating halo pyridines has been
synthesised. The derivatives are synthesised starting from substituted
pyridinyloxy benzaldehydes, by converting them in to corresponding arylidene
hydrazides followed by chloramine-T oxidation to the title compounds. The
2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives are tested for antimicrobial activity.
Many compounds showed high degree of activity against Staphylococus aureus and Escherichia
coli bacteria at 250 ![]() |
