| Abstract: | The solar X2 flare of 15 February 2011 occurred at ~ 0200 hrs UT, which was night time in Americas and Europe and no instantaneous solar flare increases of ionospheric foF2 were observed. But further in the East, the day-lit regions of Australasia, there were substantial solar flare effects during and few hours after the occurrence of the flare. Thus, this solar flare was very effective for ionospheric foF2 increases. |
