A simple imaging and processing technique for measuring yarn hairiness has been developed and the findings are compared with those obtained from the commercial testers. The results correlate well with the Zweigle hairiness meter and show higher hairiness value due to hair straightening. The method is found to be a promising one for use in the laboratory for research based investigations.en_US
