Molar excess volumes, , of nitrobenzene (i) + benzene (j) + cyclohexane or + n-exane or +  n-heptane(k) ternary mixtures have been measured as a function of composition at 308.15 K. The observed data have been analysed in terms of (i) Flory's theory and (ii) Sanchez and Lacombe theory of fluid mixtures. The  values predicted by Flory's theory are of the same order and sign for nitrobenzene (i) + benzene (j) + cyclohexane (k) or n-hexane (k) mixtures, however, quantitative agreement is not impressive.en_US
