Abstract: DL-Aspartic acid reacts with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) to give stable complexes. It forms 1:1 complexes with Co(II) and Ni(II), where both the carboxylic acid groups remain deprotonated with 2:1 complexes with Mn(II) and Pd(II), where atleast one carboxylic acid group is protonated . The spectral, thermal and electrolytic properties of the complexes have been studied.
