A highly selective liquid- liquid extraction spectrophotometric procedure has been described for the determination of trace amounts of nickel with eosine in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity are found to be 7.1 × 104  l mol-1  cm-1 and 0.83 ng/cm2 respectively. The method has been successfully utilized for the determination of nickel in AI-bronze samples.en_US
